Hope this is the right area for this.
Just bought a 1996 mark viii 68k miles had it had it vin checked 3 places and miles are correct.
I am not a mechanic by any means but i test drove it and it shifted perfect ran good.My ride home was almost 110 miles no problems stopped to have the air charged and set a appointment to have services done.3 days later it start making a oh jesus noise when shifting into reverse.Long story short the reverse is toast. My mechanic who is working on it has worked on fords for 20 yrs and he said the fluid had not been changed since it came off the lot...........lol might be a problem
Could have something been added to keep it from making noises when i bought it and even with the mileage check is it weird that there is or was such a lack of services ever performed on a car with such low mileage?
Good news thou at least now i have time to get exhuast , rear gears and tires done with it getting its trans fixed
