my speedo stop

my speedo stop working on my 97 mark 8 lsc and i replaced the sensor on the tranny what else can it be the tach still works

The speedo is read off the ABS sensor not the VSS...

The abs sensor that reads the speedo... too bad I can't remember which one it is...

Do you have an ABS light on?

Anyway replace both wheel speed sensors on the rear pumpkin. You will see two gear looking discs on the halfshafts up against the diff. There are two small black sensors that are on top of them and you should replace both of them since you already replaced the VSS.
If that does not work then your speedo is broken.

Also if your abs sensors are solid black plastic they are the 98 style, which I have seen on a 97 before... if they are metal then the 93-97 ones will work...
