name this plug?

[/IMG]this plug is in the drivers side of my trunk area next to the wheelwell. my car is the alpine in dash 6 disc. there are no speakers or package tray sub. is this plug for speakers?
 
idk car didnt come with the package tray amp and sub. if this is the plug for that could i install the factory amp and sub?
 
You could but once you see the price, you'll see why we go aftermarket when they fail.. My guess would be that the previous owner ripped it all out.. The Alpine's came with the 2 "subs" and an amp..
 
junk yard 50 BUCKS with amp. just dont want to get it if its not plug and play.car didnt come with amp and sub. i have mirocat 2010. ran the vin tells me everything about the car.
 
doesent matter to me car will be sold asap. i just have access to a factory sub and amp. but if its to much of a pain to hook up i wont bother.

It looks like the right thing. On gen II, it is a 10 pin plug with only 6 pins used. The wire colors should be yellow/red, black or black/blue, red/blue, white/red, and gray/red.

[/IMG]cool so its wired ill just need to bolt up the amp and subs and plug that into this plug. may have to add a fuse to the fuse box?
 
You will have to make sure that you have the wires from the rear of the radio going to main harness, on the lower left under the dash that leads to the rear of the car. If so then it will plug and play. If not then you will have find the correct harness or make your own wires to run to the main harness connnection.

all that i have worked on have had it, even if it didnt come from the factory with the subs, the real question is if there is anything hooked to it at the front.
 
when i installed my replacement 6 disc head unit there were no empty spots to plug into left over so i guess that everthing that could or would get pluged into my head unit is pluged in. can i test the plug in the trunk with a multi meter to see if its getting a signal from the head unit?

The connector for the sub-woofers (and the front center speakers) is the 8 pin connector on the back of the head-unit.
