Narrow Tires

Ed, why don't you get 2.73 gears out of a junkyard Grand Marquis??? That will make a bigger difference.

What the douche nozzel needs is to sell that Mark and get himself a pink Geo Metro for a DD.

Seriously, WTF? Complaining a 300HP big ass luxury cruiser can "only" get 23+ MPG? GFY!

I thought about that but it would put the RPM's below what's optimum for fuel economy based on the torque curve of this engine resulting in a loss of fuel economy.

I just figured out that my gf's car (toyota camry 2.4liter) is only getting 27 mpg when they say it should get 34 mpg? Your complaining about a v8 heavy a$$ car getting 24-25:shifty: WTF!!!

 yep. my exgf's elantra wasn't that much better than my mark. she thought that was pretty lame.

Stop trying to make your mark something it's not! Your only going to hurt yourself or someone else. Just go get one of these the ultimate in fuel economy!

get some low rolling resistant 16" 's and be done with it.

spend $400 on tires to save $2 a week

Installing 2.73 gears would put the rpm's down to 1435 at 60 mph which is way to low to get good fuel economy.

Were are you getting spoon fed from? GAYRIDERS.COM? You diffinately have no F**king clue what you are talking about. I was being polite in all and trying to talk yourself out of doing this.

Here is what you should do......

Go buy some 13" GEO rims, and buy some 185/75/13 tires, air them up to lets say 125lbs of air, and possibly install intertubes for extra support from possible blowouts. That should stiffen up those side walls, and put a Toyota Supra top mount rear window spoiler for down force. Then dress up in a flower type summer dress, no panties, put some f**king lipstick on, pick up the first hitch hicker you see, let him drive, and you play passenger biotch and start s**king his f**king tool. That should get your mind off of fuel savings.

Oh, one more thing, give the hitch hiker that you just blew the Mark, and you walk off the cliff like the clueless biotch you are.

Just stay on the short bus and you'll never have to worry about gas mileage again. Because Ed Hall is Sofa King We Todd Id!

Take the whole damn drivetrain out of your car,cut some big holes in your floor and fred flinstone that bish!! You get EXCELLENT fuel mileage then;)

there are certain times on here that i read posts and think to myself i must be offspring on albert einstein's.

Rim diameter has NOTHING to do with tire width.

If you look at the overall economics of modding your car for fuel economy it never makes sense... but most people are too retarded to look at the overall economics...

You mean my Tornado isn't saving me $50/month?

Update: Going to skinnier tires is too much trouble and the money saved from better fuel economy would take too long to recoup the cost. I ended up getting a set of junk yard tires for my Mark.

Definitely a contender.

Yup, 97 Mark with air bags filled with tire sealant and pulling 6000 lbs across the country is still going strong like a rock. Amazing thing is that it's been over 1 year since the air bags were treated and the air suspension continues to work without a hitch.
