The time has come for me to buy a truck. I have been looking at 04-05 Navigators and Escalades but cant decide which one I want! They both look good! Any info and help would be appreciated.

I think The Navi looks better and has a lot more features and toys than the Escalade but will it also have as many problems as a typical Lincoln??

Navigator, better styling , better features... imo... Create a poll!

yeah....still a ford

if i had the money id get the new escalade. 100hp more, stock 22's, way nicer looking

navigator is classier, escalade is flashier. you notice escalade faster than navigators on the road

my uncle had both, works the ports in camden, new jersey. the escalade held up much better going over the 2x4's and railroad tracks and crappy roads much better than the navigator.

The Escalade is by far more popular, I think, and I agree about them being noticed faster as well. I've always liked the Navigators better, but thats just me... You should go scout out a Navi and Escalade and test drive them, I think that should give you a pretty good idea of witch one to choose.

Drove them both, Navi sits lower rides nicer and is flashier looking, its kinda like a 4x4 Mark! An 04 Navi Ultimate is around 29k with about 35k miles, about the same for an escalade

Well are you an Ice Cube/Cedric the Entertainer or a Tony Soprano/Bernie Mac?

......That's the real question.

As you read this keep in mind I am talking about the 2005 model year trucks you mentioned. Test them both. Then consider that the Escalade is a flashier version of the Yukon. Before anybody says a Navigator is a flashier version of the Expedition I strongly urge you to look at the interiors of a Navi and Expy 2005 model year and the Escalade and Yukon the same model year.
If your reason for considering the Cadillac is the extra 45 horsepower, drive one. I could not tell the difference honestly between a brand new 2005 Escaldae and my used 2003 Navigator with 35000 miles on it. They both rode about the same. also remember that the 345 hp engine was only in the AWD models. The other had the Tahoe engine-285 hp I think.
Another thing to consider is that everybody has an Escalade. Are you buying to make a statement about what you like? Or to keep up with everyone else?
I am a Lincoln man through and through. Drive them both and look at the lesser counterparts to compare what you are really getting for your dollar. The Navigators interior is exclusive. The seats, instrument cluster, dash, stereo, steering wheel, console and everytthing in between is exclusive.
The Escalade shares it's interior with every other full size GM truck on the market. In example: Escalade/Yukon/Yukon Denali/Yukon XL/Avalanche/Sierra/Silverado/HD trucks/Suburban/Tahoe and one could go so far as to say the H2... Did I miss any? just put a Cadillac sign in the steering wheel and some fake woodinserts and viola! It's a Cadillac. I am sure to step on some Cadillac lovers toes out there which is not my intention. I just hate that GM shares so much of their designs and interiors between so many brands. Please have some exclusivity for a 60000.00 truck! By the way, the 345 hp engine is available in the Vortec Max option trucks. So it really is not exclusive. Also the Almighty 6.2 in the new Escalades is also in the re-designed Sierra Denali, guess that isn't so exclusive either.

yukotahoburbelade .....always amused me

screw em both, get an 07-08 escalade.....400hp

dont get an ext, it looks like a giant mullet

who cares how exclusive an engine is in these cars. they are two of the most common suv's on the road they are by no means exclusive

Of course I wanna make a statement! All of my buddies have Escalades and Range Rovers,I want the nicer truck! C'mon now were 29 yrs old bachelors and Bitches love trucks! but they both do look kinda cheap inside! I'm leaning more toward a Navi

What I meant by my statement was;
What do you like?
Do you want the same truck as "All of your buddies", or do you want to be original. Of course someone who spends money on that caliber of a truck wants to make a statement.
My recommendation for looks, style and options is the Navigator. The 2005/2006 models were the most reliable for that bodystyle. I owned one for 2 years and every time I see one I still stare.

Decibels5, did you mean "just buy an Edge. J/K MKX? The Mark LT is the crew cab truck. Or did you mean what you typed? The Edge and Mark LT are two opposite ends of the spectrum. I am just curious.

03-06 definatly the navigator. way better interior, way better exterior, more options. the only reason so many people have the yukalade is because it says cadillac on it, lincoln never gets the respect its deserved. if youre worried about super performance, dont look to somethign thats as big as a small house and weighs as much. the navigators got enough to power to get you where you want, i was impressed.

as far as current models go. 07+

the 07 escalade

i didnt like it when i first saw it, infact i hated it until i had seen them on the road for a few months. it has a great interior, its car like in its design, and flows well, nice accents, but the cheap plastic woodgrain is flimsy. and then you look inside of a yukon or a tahoe and with a few creative little wreaths placed over the gmc or chevy badges, youve got the same :q:q:q:qing interior. pissed me off. i do like the front end design of the escalade now, the rear end is seriously lacking. 400hp is always a plus

the 07 navigator

ive warmed up to it, i didnt like it at first either. i prefer the 03-06 models.

the mark lt is as much of a joke as the ext is
except the ext looks better

that being said, id still rather have an 03-06 navi. black on black with chrome 22's. game over.

lol at the escalade

If you are looking for those years 04 & 05. I would go Navigator because of the Independent rear suspension. Versus the Escalade with a Str8 Live Rear Axel. So the Navigator feels less like a truck on the road. I know because I've driven 2003 Expeditions which are similar.

Interior wise, Navigator is Far more superior. GM uses poorer interior materials.

Reliability, Escalade has better reliability and more power.

Gas prices will probably will never go under $2 a gallon again and to fill up the tank in these monsters, 31 Gallon Tanks at $3.29 a gallon, that means every time You fill up will cost over $101.99.

You know, gas prices are on the rise. If you usually travel by yourself or with 3 other occupants, I would Reccomend Checking out the New 2007 Ford Edge ( Crossover ). And If you want more Luxury, the New Lincoln MKX ( Crossover. They are both roomy and very comfortable. They're both Flashy and sporty with over 260 HP under the hood. They are based off the New Ford Fusion and they have been well credited so far in terms o reliability.

all escalades are a few years behind the Navis
the navi rides better, handles a turn, has real 4x4, can pull better, and makes up for its power deficit with a 6 speed auto that knows what its doing
the escalade ride worse than a 1 ton truck, leans excessively in turns, has AWd which gets confused on ice, cant pull worth :q:q:q:q after 06 MY, and the 6 speed auto in the new one is a sloppy joke
my dad had an 03 and an 07, when i drove the 03, it was actually nicer, looked buffer, could tow, and the seats were designed rfor a human
the 07 is pure rubbish

dad bought an escalade...he tells me all the time he should have bought a Navi
