While driving my car it shut down on its own, and when I tried restarting it I got nothing. Everything on the car works such as windows, air suspension, radio, lights etc. I checked all the engine compartment fuses and relays all were good. I then replaced the following.
1. Ignition module
2. Safety neutral switch
3. Ignition switch
4. Anti-theft module
The reason I changed the anti-theft was due to when I turn the ignition to start the theft light continued flashing, but with the switch in run it goes out. I tried grounding the Dark Grn and Purple factory disarm but it did not shut it down. I’m thinking if its shut down it won’t start anyway because it’s between the start interrupt relay and the starter solenoid. Also I found that if I only connect the positive cable and attach the tester directly to battery ground all the fuses in the engine fuse distribution box have voltage.
However when I attach the chassis ground I have two fuses that suddenly have no voltage.
1. Ignition coil fuse (20 amps) controls – fuel pump relay – ignition coils – radio noise capacitors – variable load control module.
2. Speed control fuse (10 amps) controls – speed control amplifier.
I know there are two more possible causes the PCM and VCRM modules, but due the cost I want to try and get some feedback if anyone else has had this problem or have knowledge as to what you would suggest as to diagnosis. Trying to do this on my own just don’t have a lot of extra money to put in shop. So if anyone is familiar with this problem or have any suggestions please help me out. Thanking you in advance.
