Need A New Battery??

What vent tube? I thought the battery was a ventless design?
All lead-acid car batteries vent to some extent. The LS's battery is in the trunk, which is part of the passenger compartment, so it can't vent like normal batteries (which simply allow the gases to escape into the atmosphere); there's a flexible tube that runs from the vent tube connector on the correct battery through the spare wheel well to the atmosphere.

If your battery doesn't have the vent tube connector, you have the wrong battery for your car, and you need to go buy the correct battery. Battery gases in the passenger compartment are NOT a good thing.

Well, I don't have the car anymore. I guess my LS had the wrong battery in it when I bought it.......or the vent tube was off.......though it was a Motorcraft so I'm not sure who was to blame. I know certain cars have the battery underneath the rear seat (Cadillac and Buick I think each have this sort of application).
