Need some detailed info on the THX stereo

Howdy folks, i just picked up a 2004 LS V8 with every option to replace my 1993 Mark VIII. Anyone who frequents the LOD knows i am a bit of an audiophile and while the stock system sounds great for being stock, it's really lacking for me. I want to upgrade the speakers and amp, maybe reuse my Rainbow Pro 3-ways from the mark, but i want to keep the stock navigation system.

My question is does anyone know where the crossovers are located for the stock THX system? Is the sound split in the head unit, the amps, or not until it reaches the speakers? I'm hoping either of the latter two, otherwise i may be SOL for using the rainbows. Thanks!

I emailed THX to find out the xovers and they wouldnt tell me, said only ford is allowed to know that info and that i should enjoy the system the way it is. I'm guessing it's the head unit that splits it rather than the amps but i dont know that for sure. I've been wanting to put my CDT's in also but havent done it yet.

Crossover between the subs in the rear deck and the door speakers is in the head unit, also have separate amplifiers.
