Need some help.

too damn slow, hence why i was looking to get rid of it, but as jesse said, its too damn nice to get rid of. it looked awesome on my car trailer when I was towing it home over the weekend too... oh and I am too cheap to buy something without being able to pay for it in full....

What do you mean by slow? LOL They ran high 13s to low 14s bone stock and you have a bunch of mods.

My dilemma is, my dad won't let me get 315s in the back cause there's no all season tire made in a 315/35/17 size. I read up on American Muscle that people who got the staggered 17x9, 255/40s up front, 17x10.5 315/35s out back with the Sumitomos said the traction is pretty good in dry and wet weather, I guess I just gotta try and convince him that since I'm only using these for the summer that I can get summer tires and just put the stockers back on for the winter

That looks like big poopy... :D

I felt left out and wanted to post my sn95...

Damn man that car is clean. I've always loved cobras, mostly 03-04 termi's but especially the SN95 Cobras. Imo that red you got is the only color ford should've offered on the SN95 Cobras, very sharp looking. You think your Cobra is slow lol, I wish I had a cobra. I only got around 180-190 RWHP :( But thats why I'm doing a catted h, full 2.5'' catback, shorty headers, cai, 70mm tb, ud pulleys- so maybe I'll be at around 210-220 rwhp if I'm lucky. Hopefully I can get to around 220-230 rwhp with full boltons including gears and a torque converter before I start with the GT40 heads and cams

my problem was traction, even with the drag radials on it and i have to admit it was my first time at the strip i got a 13.9 (with horrible reaction time and 60') and spun through 2nd, when I finally got the traction I ended up trapping at 103 mph. It might not be slow but in todays standards it is and I am also use to it.

Thanks. I still get a lot of looks and thumbs up with it going down the road. The car is in immaculate condition as it gets put in her cubby for the winter (actually going to put it away soon). we will see what happens next year becasue I am in need of a newer DD since my lincoln is starting to fall apart. Maybe I will decide to do something fun with the Cobra.

I have the 555s on the back of mine and I can tell you they are better than the drag radials but still not very fun in the rain, doable but i dont recommend it. I am sure plenty of people have no problems but I would much rather drive my lincoln with the 245s in the rain or better yet the f-250...

Thanks, this really helps me out. Now I know which tires I won't be getting lol. I'll probably just run 255s up front, 275s out back and get some all seasons.

I noticed in your sig you got flow 40s on your cobra. Mines a 95, and would it be worth it to get the full flowmaster american thunder catback with flow super 44s, or should i just get flow 40s and put those on the car in place of the stock mufflers? I can't find the flowmaster catback with the 40 series, which I'd prefer over the 44s. I'll be adding either a catted x or catted h, I can't decide between the two lol.

They are nice but not with the 4.30s and I do a lot of highway driving.i have an o/r h and it sounds great but the wife isn't too happy if we take it on a trip anymore lol. I had to get pipes made for the front of the mufflers cause they wre too short cause the 40s are just a bit shorter than the stockers

Sounds good lol, when I upgrade my rear end I'm doing 4.10s and installing a performance valve body for the trans, possibly a 3000 rpm torque converter aswell as a tranny cooler. I wish I could run an o/r mid pipe, but with the cops by me would have a field day with me. Thanks for the help

X pipes will make it raspier, H pipe will make it throatier.

Now, why will the cops be all over you for an offroad pipe? Because of emissions or noise?

If you do the full catback with the 44's they are a little quieter than 40's so it will equal out. Removing the cats doesn't make it *that* much louder. Its louder, but shouldn't make you stand out.

I agree. Once you swap the logs out for headers, that's when the noise level of your exhaust might gather some unwanted attention. LOL

Ah okay, i thought that was the way it went. Which would be louder the flowmaster full catback with flowmaster 40s, paired with a catted X or a catted H. I'm thinking the catted X would be louder right? A few reasons why the cops would be all over me- 17 years old, mustang, tinted windows, loud exhaust. Cops by me have nothing better to do than pull people over for tint, its happened to my a lot of people I know. And for sure if they pull me over, they're gonna try and be intimidating, but i've learned from experience yes sir no sir, yes mam no mam and i should be good. I don't think I'd pass emissions if i took the cats out, if i read this right, in new york if the car is 1996 and newer it has to have the factory cats blah blah, mines a 1995 so idk if I'd still pass emissions. And nobody here will take out the cats anyways. My brothers 91 GT 5.0 came from the factory with no cats, and its got the stock 2.25'' dual piping with dumped flow 40s that came off my dad's mark, its stupid loud and kinda obnoxious. I cannot stand the smell of no cats, makes me wanna puke my guts up lol.

Definately. My plans for exhaust are as follows
1- Full 2.5'' Flowmaster American Thunder Catback w/ flowmaster 40s
2- BBK Full Length Catted X Pipe
3- BBK Ceramic Shorty Headers
I would put long tubes but my cars an auto and most companies only make them for sticks, supposedly because of where the starters located and something else lol. I think with the shorties, full catback w/ flow 40s and a catted x, my car should roar:D

X won't make it necissarily louder, just more raspier.

Stock headers compared to aftermarket shorties on a 5.0 you won't notice much of a change in sound, but will notice a touch more low end torque since the primaries are larger.

In my personal opinion, x pipes sound better with a straight-thru muffler like a magnaflow, and H pipes sound better with chambered mufflers.

Absolute meanest 5.0 I've ever heard was an '85 SSP coupe a friend of mine had, ported '69 351w heads, cam, intake, carb. 5spd car with longtubes, x pipe and magnaflows with tailpipes..... made that car sound like it was going to kill the earth!

Check with MAC products, I could have sworn they just came out with SN95 specific longtubes for automatic cars.

Ahh. So I'm probably better off with a catted H lol. I wish there were cars like that where I am, everyone here drives normal cars, no high performance cars. Except this guy around the block from me, he's got a stick G35 coupe, a stick shift 2013 audi s4 and a few others. I saw on Mac's site that they make long tubes for autos, so if I got those I would have to get a shorty style X or H pipe correct? I know the shorties don't really do a lot I'm cool with that, but I'd love to have Longtubes.

AHHHHHH!!! carburetor! no thanks. :) ford fuel injection isn't that complex. our 69 cougar is eec-iv.

similar ish set up too. 351 punched to 377 or so, mildly ported heads, high comp pistons, long tube headers, big rusted out mufflers (well, muffler, one fell off. :D), cam, intake, h pipe, AOD with 4r70w internals, and a cobra j4j1 computer. fun fun fun! and yet, not super loud either.

Damn dude thats cool, my dad has a 3 speed 67 or 68 cougar like 20 years ago. He said it had a ton of torque, was able to roast the tires thru 3 gears lmao. But unfortunately the wiring harness burnt up and it was bye bye cougar
