never ending warping rotor

For your everyday car, you can go to the dealer and buy front rotors for $120 each, or you can go to your local discount auto parts store and get "the same part" for $20 each. Simple question: does your life depend upon a $20 rotor? Mine doesn't. Good rotors cost good money and my life is worth it.

It sounds like your saying there the "same part" but the Dealer cost more, so go with the more expensive part because it's the better part. You did say "the same part"! So why go with the more expensive part if it's the "same" part?
If your talking about the merry-go-round effect then the bigger brakes would't have helped anyway in a sudden stop that crunched a car up to the front wheels.
For example...this car has stock rotors and stock calipers, if it had the bigger cobra rotors and calipers to match (that I've read most have put on)...how much faster would it stop from... 70 to 0 mph? 1, possibly 2 secs? If even that! That's not gonna help you from hitting whatever your heading for.
So why go with the bigger unless it's because it looks COOL!
I'm not getting on your a$$ in any way Sapp! Just trying to figure out why most have changed over to bigger brakes/rotors when the stock's are sufficient for everyday driving, which is what 95% of us do.

The large paragraph I copied from another site.. and you're right.. doesn't make sense to pay more for the same part.

But if you think that 1 or 2 seconds doesn't make a difference in the outcome of an event, you've probably never landed a plane, or taken a shot at someone that's walking, over a mile away from your location.

when lincoln introduced the 2nd gen with the neon, they advertised as a safety feature. why? because its lights faster than regular halogen bulb and is very visible.

and it light much faster than 1 or 2 seconds, (ever watched one light? its really fast,) but incorporating reaction times and the fact that you can now brake earlier, lincolns numbers still translated into like 20 feet or so. about a car length.

and you think 1 or 2 seconds is no big deal? well, wrong.

Sounds like your following a Gen2 and he hit's the brakes! What if your driving one? Is 1 or 2 secs gonna keep you from hitting something at 70 or even 50 when you hit the brakes with the bigger calipers/rotors? I can't see it. Even if your on a track with the same driver and under the same circumstances and do two different runs your gonna have two different stops! Because of "reaction time". The only thing is on a track you know the stop is coming. In real life you don't.

Travelling at 55mph, your vehicle is moving 80.66 feet per second...

So Spree, care to rethink how much 1 or 2 seconds difference could be?

Spree you obviously dont do spirited driving.
So you will never know the difference of better brakes until its to late.

Dam! My cheap 13" rotors are original tho. I guess if they ever go bad (which they probably won't if they haven't by now) I'll just buy some more cheap 13" and call it a day!
I don't see any reason to put bigger rotors and bakes on when it doesn't stop you any faster!
oem rotors are not 13''

Not sure what to look for the tell -tell signs of worn out strut rod bushings, but will take it to shop and check it out. Also brakes make loud noise (hard rubbing sound) when going down steeper grades or doing hard breaking with a pulsing feel in steering wheel and brake pedal. Put on NAPA s best rotors but the pads are the cheapie ones. Could that be issue too?

Walking... Meh! Just don't lead them as much.

warping rotors

Did ya lube the caliper guide pins last time? Could be more bad calipers thou.. if you got reman calipers... then basically you got some that were used, cleaned off, and resold. Need to replace the square cut seal and dust boot ... and check to make sure that your rears are working properly.. lack of rear brake function = over working the fronts

Booster could also be applying constant pressure keeping the brakes slightly applied but not enough to feel while driving, this will make your brakes maintain built up heat, and then when you actually use the brake they get even hotter.

And stop using CHINA steel brake rotors >.<

Beginning to think the rear brakes not working right. Wife drove the lincoln to the store (5 blocks away)and when she returned rear rotors were barely warm and fronts were hot to the touch How do ya fix that?
