I was under the assumption that there was a bumper bracket that could be swapped out for the 03+ bracket to eliminate the gap?

Sorry I meant using 00-02 headlights on a 03+ non-HID mounting bracket. I guess I was kind of hoping that they would just move the light forward but that would screw up where the lights were when the hood closed.

So swapping the headlights out will resolve the gap issue? Do they use the same mounts?

If you decided to swap headlights you would need to get the 03 and up light brace that goes underneath the bumper. The mounting points on the 00-02 headlights are different than that of the 03+ headlights. The brace is around $150. Do a search on LvC for this. It has been done. However, you'll need to re-wire the headlight wiring harness because those are different too.
