Hello, Im new and need some help, sit here a hour reading the forum and
thought this was a interesting site.
I just bought a 1994 mark 8 and sometimes it sounds like Im driving over speed bumps.
Its does it randomly and at all speeds. dont know if its the motor or rear end or transmission, but it feels like Im driving over speed bumps.
Can anyone direct me on some reading material, or what it is?
thanks for having me, Hugs, Wanda

try the mark 8 forum maybe?

Welcome. I moved your post to the proper forum.

My first guess - Rear shock mounts. does it kinda clunk in the rear when you hit a bump?

If so - I suggest you call Five Star Ford (ad on right side of page) and order the mounts and then have a mechanic locally install them. This is the most inexpensive way.

Also check your sway bar end links. I just replaced mine. They are $40 each. Not hard to replace yourself. They're just behind the brake rotors. When the end link ball joints go bad, there are a lot of popping noises.

I dont know what "driving over speed bumps" sounds like. Most speed bumps are raised humps in the road that you have to slow down to go over, and that doesnt make any weird sounds.

if you are talking about the rumble strips on the side of the freeway that make a loud sound when your tires hit them, then it's probably the typical tranny shudder.

read this, second symptom down:

Makes a nice difference, doesn't it?

I'm in need of a few things for my 97 Lincoln Mark Vlll. The plexi on the front left headlight is grazed over, so I would like to replace this or fix it. Also there is moisture getting in somehow on the rear end where the long red plastic is. (I don't understand whats going on there) And it is forming black mold inside.(not to pretty) Is this going to be a tough project? What do I do so I can fix this without giving an arm and leg. The blinker end has popped off and I have tape holding it on (tacky) also need one of these. Oh ya, my brakes squeek too. I brought it in to have looked at and they tell me this is normal. I've never owned a vehicle that had such annoying brakes.

Oh, my car only has 55,000 mi. on it! believe it or not.

I'm in need of an experts advise :wave

As far as the glaze on the headlights, if you do a quick search you will find a post of mine showing how I de-glazed mine and my wife's car for $10.00 using some polishing pads from Autozone. Takes about 20 min.

As far as the other stuff wrong with the headlight assembly, I would say you need a new one altogether. Try rockauto.com, they have some of the best prices around and they are reputable. I buy lots of parts from them and they ship reasonable and fast, never mess up.
