I just finished putting together this grille idea that came up. I love the idea of the all chrome grilles. I use to have the inserts that you can get on ebay on my grille to give it that look. But there was just one problem, it looked cheap. From far away it looked decent, but the closer you got, the worse it got. So I decided to put together my own grille that didn't look cheap. I have an 04 LS with the stock grille (chrome all around with plastic in the middle). I got a LSE grille and took it apart along with my stock grille and put the chrome trim of the stock grille with the chrome inner piece of the LSE grille. Now I have a full "factory" chrome grille that doesn't look cheap. And with the LSE black outer piece, I plan to get it the inner piece of the stock grille painted to match it. So if I ever get tired of the all chrome, I can change it to all black. I think the grille looks good and much better than the inserts because you can look at this grille at any angle and it looks like it came from the factory like that. Here are some pics. Let me know what you think.

That is a beautiful grill man, don't ever change it. I think it is the best grill that anybody can get for the LS.

Check out mine.

Fairly easy conversion. I ended up using a soldering iron instead of a dremel. The soldering iron works twice as fast with no mess. Just heat up the plastic weld spots for a couple of seconds and the weld will come apart. This process will leave the tabs intact making it easier to glue/epoxy the two chrome pieces back together.

I want this sooo bad. Lincoln should have gone all out on this for their cars. Not just on certain ones, kind of like a trade mark.

If you ever get tired of the all chrome, don't paint it, sell it to me. I have the 2000 grill, just chrome on the top piece.

God I luv that grill!! Come on Mr Garrison! My order would be sent minutes after you posted!!:)

Too bad the manufacturer of the Lincoln grilles doesn't make this one for the LS. I have been in contact with them to buy the stock emblems from them. However, they won't discuss anything on the grilles until the LS is history. They'll talk after that. They have an agreement with Ford not to sell the product until the line is finished. Maybe then I can talk with them.

How the hell can I get ahold of one of these???
Right now...make one yourself. They are not an "off the shelf" item.

I know that its just how do I find the 2 grills to mate together?

I thought about the same thing and decided to go a different route all together.

I have been really busy with the sites in my signature. That and the umpteen billion other sites we are trying to launch.

The flames are holding up real nice. We have suffered through 26 days of rain and are on our way to breaking the record for the most days in a row for rain in Washington state. I still have not been able to put a coat of wax on since the paint needs at least 60 days to cure and then came the rain.

My car is so damn dirty that you cannot even see the flames:mad:

What type of epoxy are you guys using on these and where can it be purchased? Do you recomend a two part epoxy? Thanks

Any type of epoxy will work. I recommend a epoxy that is for ABS plastic. I bought mine at Home Depot.

I like the look of the all-chrome.... but I am curious..

I want to first; paint the outside of my 02 grille to match my body.. and then I was thinking about using a soldering iron to break out the vertical plastic piece in my grille and replacing it with an inset black mesh or something. This would look similar to the mclaren grille I see round here.

any ideas?

Very hard to do, tried it. I would say your best option is to find the 03 2-piece grill and paint the outide of that to match your car, then put the mesh in it. This way the grill will be perfect.

One way to make the job easier would be to buy an LSE grille, which already has a body-colored surround. Unfortunately, that only works if your car's color is one of the LSE colors...

I don't know why I didn't think of that. You can buy it from LSKoncepts in any color you want.
