I have a 98 mark that fuel pump died on. I bought the walbro 255 cobra unit (with future mods in mind) and installed it using a guide I found online. The car cranks but will not start. I replaced the plugs and fuel filter while i was doing the pump. Fuel pump comes on and fuel is getting to fuel rails. I put starting fluid in and car runs for a second then turns off. So i don't think it is cam or crank sensor because there is spark. The only thing I haven't done is the pressure regulator. I don't get a spray of gas out of the rails when i hit the button just flows out. Should i replace the regulator or is there another problem. Thanks for your help I have been trying to find this problem for a week. everything I have read by searching I have done and nothing has worked.

What part number Walbro pump did you use? If it's the GSS341 or GSS342, that's a gerotor pump, which won't live long in a PWM arrangement. I'm not aware of a Walbro 255 lph turbine pump.

You did change your fuel filter (mandatory to keep your new pump warranty)?
