Hey hows it going everyone?. My names Alex and I recently purchased a "Cream" colored 2004 Lincoln LS, I've always wanted one of these but they were a little to much on craigslist so i found one at a dealer for $6000 with 137xxx miles on it. I had a 97 Ford Taurus SHO (Awesome Car, Pain in the ass but awesome!) before this one, i do still have the SHO it just needs the timing cover replaced and the oil pan gasket needs resealed but i work overnights so i don't really have the time lol Anyway, My question is about the LS's Trans.. It seems to shift pretty harsh whether warm or cold, if I'm going up a hill it's kind of seems like the trans is "confused" on what gear it should be in and it shudders and shakes all the way up the hill :/. I also noticed that if i take off from a stop sign and say i go to slow down about 15 feet from the stop sign the trans will shake the car pretty badly too I've done the trans memory "reset" twice already and it still jerks badly even when putting it into "Reverse" or "D5". Has anyone else had this problem and can maybe shed some light on it for me? Any help would be greatly appreciated!.

Thanks, Alex.

You need to replace the solenoid assembly inside the transmission, and do a complete flush and replacement of the fluid. (Some 04s came from the factory with bad transmission fluid.)

aamco does it for 650 that's including parts and labor and the parts are oem. the solenoid pack was redesigned after 04 (according the the stealership where the part was orderd from) and a special adative is also added to the new fluid so prevent that from happening faster.

I'd gladly pay the extra $200 to have a dealership do it. I've heard lots of bad things about All Automatics Must Come Out.

JOEGR nice "All Automatics Must Come Out" i like that.

also i re-read his issues he also said that the car starts to shake isn't that more like a coil issue a lot of coil issues are first diagnosed as tranny issues plus he didn't get the "E" message and check transmission message. go on ebay and get the Visteon coils and new sets of spark plugs since with the mileage that you got your going to do it anyway.

Yes, I see how his comments could be interpreted that way too. New coils and plugs are always a good idea.
