new ls owner asking for help

I don't think anyone can deny that one.

I firmly deny it.
And I too remember the days of frequent points and plug changes, and the fact that you could never get the carburetor to work exactly right when the slightest condition changed (like outside temperature).

On the other hand, I sometimes fantasize about the different ways that I could smash my current cell phone.

We changed the oil every 1500 miles, sparks every 3k and did the timing every 6k (or something like that, I was little) on our '68 beetle and '67 Variant. They had oil pans for air filters. I remember standing out in the carport with my dad in Wyoming, in 25 degree weather in January while he did it. I also remember him heating up bottles of SAE30 motor oil on the stove so he could change the oil in the middle of winter.

So, yeah I've been frustrated with the LS, but not like dad got with his cars BITD

Welp, I learned never to open my big mouth again lol. I figure if my dad who was an old school bow tie guy can be converted by new technology, and your stories on here I can respect how far the automobile has come. His new 5.0 F150 is his first "new" pickup since he owned a '77 3/4 ton Chevy pickup with a built 454 in it. Couple suburbans and my parents shared cars between then. He's blown away by it. I know in the past 30 years, at least the gas mileage was improved.
