new LS owner need some info

yea 15.98 something like that , I'd be interested to see how much of a difference it made

When I took my LS to K&N, to verify the fit, function and (I thought) emissions of the FIPK so they could add the LS to their application catalog, they gave me a free system (they, as did Magnaflow, gave me free system for the use of my LS). They also replaced my filter with a new one as I already had the FIPK installed on the car. I had the system sitting in the box in the garage for over a year as I wasn't sure if I wanted to install it on my wife's LS or sell it. A couple of months ago I drove our cars back-to-back and the difference in power was noticeable. The next day I installed the FIPK on my wife's LS and saved the stock system for smog checks.

I've always noticed a difference in doing an intake. Its always my first mod.
2012 Mustang V6
2011 Ram 1500 Sport 5.7
06 Mazdaspeed 6
05 Dodge SRT4
GSR swapped 93 civic hatch
94 Cougar 4.6
00 Civic SI
All eventually went full bolt ons or boosted but intake then exhaust then tune. It usually works well.

Well good news: got my K&N intake the other day.
Bad news: the longer I have this LS the more problems I'm finding. I may have to take it back and get a different vehicle.
Went to pull the intake off. No filter inside with dirt in the bottom. Front bumper is held on with thin metal straps. Fog lights held on with zip ties, just flopping around. They replaced the rear speakers for me but put the wrong size in. (Round speakers in a oval hole)
They replaced the stock CD/nav unit with a nice pioneer one but scratched up the dash and tried to paint it.. the wrong color. Got over spray on the new pioneer. And it sounds like there's something bouncing around in my passenger window when going up & down. Oh and the tensioner pulley is chirping.

Sounds like a very unreputable dealer. A call to the District Attorney's office may be in order! Document EVERYTHING with pictures. If you did have the THX/NAV make them replace it with the STOCK unit! The rear deck speakers are subs and only receive the lower frequencies. I would stay away from "independent" dealers; especially when purchasing a luxury car. There is a reason that dealer bought that car for sale.

I hope this all works out for you!
