Probably not--there are only ~1.6km/mile; that would only take it to ~192K, well short of the 600K+ indicated. If it went from km to miles, it would have gone from 120K to ~75k, so even that couldn't account for the discrepancy.

FWIW, my '06 still shows the tenths digit on the odometer, and if you look in his first picture you can see where the decimal point would be.

BTW, at this point, I think you're screwed no matter what you do--your car is now a "true miles unknown" vehicle, and I'm pretty sure all states require this to be marked on the title. I know Oklahoma does (been there, done that, got the t-shirt and the coffee mug :( ). The dealership is probably the only place that will be able to help you, but there's no way for them to know what the correct miles are to set the new instrument cluster (and fixing this will almost certainly require a new instrument cluster).
 
the cluster can be sent in... the dealer can handle that... they should be able to pull the milage from PCM... but that is if it doesn't say 600000 miles... and if it hasn't taken a :q:q:q:q it self!
 
that sucks... I am laughing but I really do feel for you. I'd say it's better to have your car listed as true miles unknown than have someone think it has over 600k on it! Hell, you could barely give it away with that many miles on it!
 
after 3 trips to the dealer and 3 thousand miles later i got it fixed. $189 for a reflash but I talked them into making it 121K miles. The dealer called in a ford specialist and he plugged into my cluster and flashed it. thanks for everyones help!

not to get off subject . but my car beeps when i give it good gas but not the ding ding like when lights are on but a more quite beep roughly one second long??

Do you ever see something try to flash up on the message display at the same time?
 
Do a search. Its what we call the random ding.


Some say its with the amount of gas and other things. Some like myself notice the check trans flashes for less than a second but nothing ever gets found wrong.


Its a ghost in the machine I guess.
 
It's just a temporary trans malfunction. It says something about gear select error or something. I've never been able to read it completely, since it disappears so quickly.
 
What about when it does it and don't say anything about the trans? I get that sometimes and I know some people here do.

I could have swore mine said check transmission or something on those lines but nothing like " gear select error".
 
Glad you got it fixed. But it makes me wonder how often dealers do that on their vehicles :shifty:
 
The mileage thing it weird on the LS from what ive been told the cluster is programed to the car. i need a new cluster becuse all my needles arent accurate from removal of white face gauges.The process of getting a new cluster is car sits for days while the old cluster is removed 2 ford techs have to sign off on the miles and the new one comes from ford with the miles on it becuse they are stored in the cluster.


the beep error would be Gear Select error i belive. when you program your car it runs through error codes on the message screen while its flashing
