well i have not seen the actual HP rating on the car, i myself has seen the "more than 450 HP" as have everyone else, but how more of 450 can it be? it is not 500 or they would of said it. it is probably around a ball park figure of 460-475 HP. until it is dyno'd lets just leave it as that. that is why i said 450 HP cause i really do not know. as for the saleen it is rated at 400HP!

SVT boss Hau Thai-Tang has stuffed the extraordinary 5.4-liter, dohc, 32-valve supercharged V8 from the Ford GT sports car under the Mustang’s hood. Final horsepower figures are not firm, but Thai-Tang hints it will be “well over 450 hp, closer to 500.” Look for 450-plus lb-ft of torque too.

In the GT, that engine produces well over 500hp. It won't take the aftermarket long to bump it back up in the Cobra.

I think we all drifted from the sleeper-type cars.
One manufacturer that hasn't been mentioned, but has some fast cheap cars is Pontiac - the GTP Grand Prix is a fast mf'r, I had one as a rental car for a week and that sh*t is fast. Soon they are going to build a G6 coupe (small car) with 260hp and Pontiacs usually stay under $30K.
Another car that has been mentioned, but not in this thread - is that Dodge Neon SRT-4, ugly - but damn its fast.
You would never think of a Pontiac being fast unless its a GTO or Trans Am - so they make some decent sleeper cars - not much to look at, but fast and cheap.

I haven't seen a fast one yet. I am sure it's out there though. There is one here locally that I see every weekend and it actually looks pretty sharp.

as for the "supercars" sh*t you can get a 2000 dodge viper with about 20,000 K for like 40grand- not bad and still just an awesome car. but if you want to go a cheaper route subaru is an awsome car the new turbocharged leagacy's are fast and even faster the wrx's(wich i have drove.....WOW!) and the wrxSTI....HOLY SH*T!!

I drove a new CL 600 Benz with twin turbos and that thing is beautiful, so much power... It has 493hp, over 700 of torque I think, it's just amazing, handling and everything. The price is good too, around $130000. After driving the CL600 I drove a BMW 645CI and it felt slow, although it is very fast, the benz goes from 0-60 in 4.5 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 12.6 @ 115mph, felt very smooth and fast.

Well the fastest car I have had the chance to drive was a 1994 Ferrari 512TR a gentlemen in Dayton,Ohio has a huge collection of vintage and present automoblies. I only drove it about 8 blocks but those 8 blocks where simply amazing.
4.9L/V-12-428hp/370tq-195top mph/4.8sec 0-60
These 512TRs are the fastest Testrossa's every built and I think one of the sexiest!
