Hey guys I just purchased a 2003 Lincoln LS and I am looking for fog lights and high beems to match the low beem lights. Help please :( I am a newbie.

Welcome to LVC and congrats on the new ride.

Lots of great info on this forum. Search, search and search. Nearly all issues have been discussed and resolved.

We have several active Canadians on this forum as well.

ARe your headlights HID's? Are they factory HID's? WHen you say you want your fogs and high beems to match your lows, I am guessing that you are looking at the color difference between HID's and Halogen highs and fogs?

My headlights are factory. And yes I am talking about the colour difference. My fog and high beems look yellow, as my lows look like a pure white/blueish

Stock HID in the LS are 4300K. So match to that color or if you want them to be 100% match. You can replace them all with the same bulb. This would require getting an HID kit for the fogs. Also the hi beams will probably always be yellowish. Some people put HID into the hi-beam, but it is not recommended.

So I can get the hid kit on ebay correct? Searchin for 4300k foglights?

If it's just color and not function that are important to you, you can also replace the fogs with LED and get the same color (just not very bright).

you could go with silverstars in the high beams as they give a nice white light, they burn out a lot faster than normal bulbs unfortunately but in the high beam area (not used a lot) they should last a decent amount of time.

Yeah I just dont like the yellow haha. Just finished fixing a missfire on the LS runs like a champ right now planning on doing the headlights soon! If anyone has any opinions on what i should use I would appreciate it!

they are terrible as high beams if you live in an area where youre constantly having to turn them off and back on, this shortens the life span more than anything.

personally I prefer DDM tuning for any aftermarket HID products.

also, it might be good to note, since aftermarket HIDs are not DOT approved (don't really know how that effect you all...) they are not regulated like OEM products, one brands 4300k might be a slightly different color than any other brands 4300k (hell, I've seen some brands have the same temp, but different colors between different bulb sizes)

very true, in the city I rarely use the high beams so they work for me. but yes if your kickin them on and off a lot they are gonna fry fast. sucks too since they are nice halogens WHEN they are working.

There's really no need to match the color of the high beams to the low beams, since the high beams shouldn't be on when other drivers can see them. 9011 HIR can easily be installed in place of the 9005 bulb. They're significantly brighter (2300 lumens instead of 1700 lumens), while maintaining the same filament position and beam pattern.

I wouldn't recommend the Silverstars (or any other blue-tinted bulb). The blue coating reduces the output. To compensate they used a higher-output filament, which has a much shorter life span. I've used Silverstars in the past, and they've always blown sooner than any other bulb I've used.

In the foglights, HIDs will cause way too much glare to be used safely. There's no need to have foglights on in clear weather, but if you want to colormatch them to your headlights for looks I'd recommend LED. While still not legal, most drop in LED bulbs aren't bright enough to cause significant glare. However, most LEDs are around 6000K or higher, which will look blue compared to stock HIDs (around 4300K).

Minor differences in the shape of the mounting flanges.

Extra-wide plastic top ear can easily be trimmed to make any HIR fit the bulb receptacle of an 9005 or 9006.
