SlickLS, I dont' think it's DOT approved to put HID's into halogen reflector housings.
correct but i have to vouch for my hid's and say that the output is far superior than that of my old halogen ones. while i do agree with Jwerner about the higher the kelvin the less output it produces but that's not to say that it's dimmer or distorted in any way. all it means is that although the hid's you may have are bright, had you gone lower on your kelvin scale it would've been a lot brighter (i'm not talking about anyone in particular, general talk). i'm not trying to start an argument or anything, all i'm saying is, if someone wants to get hid's and someone tells them that hid's don't produce good visibility output then maybe that info is not correct in it's entirety. if someone skeptical then lower kelvin is recommended.
