Ok, I think I bought the worst LS ever. Every time I'm trying to fix something in my car new issues appear. Last month I was having overheating problems, thanks this forum I could fixed it, so I bought new clockspring, turn signal switch and inside handle to start getting all this things fixed too. But now my two rear windows are stuck up, I mean they can roll up but not down.

In addition it looks like the coils or spark plugs need to be replaced since the car is misfire, when the car is in stop position it makes like hip cups. I have to mention that about 8 months ago I replaced the spark plugs.

But, this isn't everything! Engine mounts are bad too, I noticed how the engine jump when the car is in parking position and the engine gets 3000 RPM. I also did the test with someone in front of the car to verify and it really looks like I have engine mounts problems.

What else?

Ah the A/C is making a weird noise like gurgling or something defrosting from the dash. The A/C something takes up to 5 or 10 minutes to get cold, this has happened a couple times, but the noise is always.

So this is my question: should I sell this car just like this or is better spend some money before selling it?
I'm so frustrated!

I need advice please. Thx

Sorry, no advice on the sell or fix then sell question.

On the AC, your refrigerant is low. You have a leak somewhere. It might be small enough that you can just recharge it and be okay for a year, or it might be big enough that you have to fix the leak first. The noise you hear is the expansion valve. It does that when the refrigerant is low. It is not the leak.

Engine mounts. Of course the engine should rock some. The question is, is it rocking too much. If so those will have to be changed.

Misfires. You need to change the coils and the spark plugs. You should never change the coils without changing the plugs at the same time. You should do this soon, before you have to had bad catalytic converters to your list of things that must be replaced

Windows: How can you roll them up if you can't roll them down first?

Do you hear the window motors making noise?

My Pass side rear sorta goes down.....the motor works and the regulator moves but the clip is broken......the pin that goes in the window hole is missing......so I can "roll" the window down and then grab it and move it up and down with my hand.

Don't worry buddy, my drivers side clips finally broke all the way last night, it doesn't go down any more, my stereo acts up when it's cold, and the tranny acts up for a few days and then it behaves like it's brand new again.....but I love the car any ways.

If you fix the issues yourself since you have the parts I would do it before selling. If you are going o have someone else fix them then I would sell the parts with the car and make sure the buyer knows full disclosure.

Sell or Keep a Vehicle

How much did I pay for it? How much is it worth? How long have I had it?How long will I keep it? How much liquid funds do I have per month? How much time do I have to fix things? How competent am in fixing things? Do I need a mechanic to fix things? How many miles on the vehicle? How many miles a year am I driving? Does the vehicle require high upkeep? How old is the vehicle? How much does it cost to fix the things that make the vehicle a transportation tool? How much does it cost to fix the nice to have things? Do I have or need help to fix things? What can I sell for? What am I going to buy? Some things to consider!

I tried pushing the glass down with my hands, so that way I know the window only can roll up. I just checked under the panel and it looks like the white clip is not attached to the glass so that explain how only can roll up.

About the car, I paid $4500 almost 2 years ago, since then I have replaced the battery, brakes and spark plugs, that's like $600 including mechanic labor.

Now I already bought the clockspring and turn signal switch, and still have $120 more in my Paypal account so I can buy a least something else. The thing is that I don't know if is worth it spend all this money in the car.

Let me tell you something, I consider this car a piece of crap but I don't know what the hell it has that every time I fixed something I want to keep. So the next day another problem appear. So crazy! But my wife want me to sell it because I spend my entire days off fixing or trying to something in the car.

Brother, if you paid that two years ago for luxury car you are doing quite well with it. Everything you mentioned is routine maintenance.....Any car you would have to pay those costs(labor optional)

+1.

Buy a set of these official service manuals like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2002-FORD-L...anuals_Literature&hash=item3f20a570eb&vxp=mtr

I didn't even know they existed but someone posted a link on here and it was one of the best purchases I've made. I got all three books for my 2006 for $30... so that link I posted is a bit high but keep an eye out or make an offer

If I understand correctly, you are revving the motor with the car in park. The V8 has a rev limiter that kicks in at 3000 rpm. When it hits the 3000 rpm limit, the limiter cuts the gas for a split second. If you keep the gas pedal down it will then rev back up to the limit and the limiter will cut the gas again. All this would cause your motor to "jump" as it revs up and down. I think that is what you are seeing, and there is no problem with your mounts.

Someone else can correct me if the V6 doesn't have the same rev limiter.

With the car in drive, and the hood open, hold the brake and press the gas pedal. If the left side mount is bad, you will see the motor lift, for the right side mount, I think it has to be checked from under the car.

I forgot to mention that ball joints maybe bad because the car is making a knocking noise when driving. I know theses are regular maintenance, but mine needs all at once. Today I took it autozone for a computer check and I got the p0125 code. Something about the engine Tempeture.

I also assume the engine mounts are bad because the car make a jump when I start accelerating, between gear 1 and 2

This is just my opinion based off my experience when I did mine....if you're going to do the ball joints, wait until you can afford to do ball joints, tie rod ends, sway bar end links and wheel bearings...........for both sides.

Is there a reason you took it to autozone to get scanned? that could be an old code that needs to be cleared.

Edit: nevermind, you brought it in because it's missing. That code you got is probably because you need cops/plugs

Your thermostat isn't closing or is the wrong (too low) temperature.

That symptom does not relate to motor mounts. It doesn't sound like you have money to waste on changing things that aren't bad.

Do you guys think should I take the car to the dealership for a diagnostic before spending any cent? I mean, because now I don't know where to start from my list of problems:

Misfire.
Too low Tempeture.
Suspension.
A/C
probably Transmision if engine mounts are ok.

Just sell it. Your unhappy enough and probably will never get your moneys worth fixing it.

No,

replace the cops/plugs first and reset codes.
That temp too low code may never come back and really won't affect driving anyways.

Then suspension

Put dye in the AC to see where it's leaking...can buy from parts store for very cheap.

No comment on the transmission/engine mounts....

Where can I find coils? I called autozone and they told the price is $58 each. Is that price accurate? Also, I'm wondering if there is a way to know which one is bad, so I only replace one. I know it sound cheap, but I still have a lot money to put in this car.

There was just a post on this.....

You can do them all at once or one every week or two as they all fail. Having to remove the upper intake each time for the passenger side makes this a rather dumb move. If you don't preserve your engine the rest won't matter!

And just to expand on this...

The stress test required to determine if a coil is bad or not will likely cost you over $200. After that, you'll probably find that the coils that were good when you had it tested today may fail next week.

Also, you have to replace the spark plugs at the same time.
