Hello All.

I just bought a 2000 LS V6 w/ 51k miles on it. It's has the sports package and the interior and exterior are tan. I got it for $11k.

I truly love it. I am originally from Ocala FL, but I goto the US Naval Academy. On 27 May, I will be an officer and then I am going to be stationed in Norfolk VA on the USS Ramage, DDG 61.

So thanks in advance for answering my questions, b/c I know I am going to ask a lot.

Let me say again, the LS is the best car I've ever seen.

Welcome to the club Kevin. Good to see a military officer here. I have a friend who is a Master of Arms in the Navy stationed near Iraq.

:W
Ask away.
If we don't know the answer we'll make it up. :N

Go Navy! I sincerely appreciate your volunteering to stand watch over the nation for us all. I am fomer tin can sailor of the class of ships, USS SELLERS DDG11, that were retired after the Arliegh Burke's started to serve. Welcome to the LvC; I own a 00 V6 Sport and if you ever need technical assistance do not ever hesitate to ask. My family and I live in Tampa just a short run south of Ocala so we are practically neighbors as well as shipmates :)

If there is any chance that you will be in Florida the weekend of April 9th I sur would like to have you join us at Mustangs and Mustangs out at the Fantasy of Flight between tampa/orlando.

Fair winds and following seas.

:W to :V God bless you, and congrats on the Naval Academy. My oldest son just got out. He was on USS T.Roosevelt. CVN71, they did an Iraq tour for the first 6 months. He also was ported out of Norfolk. But was stationed at NAS Jacksonville. Now he's working for Homeland Security. Also enjoy that LS I know you will.

I sailed with the Roosevelt in the Med on its first trip there. It is HUGE!

I'll tell my son next time I speak to him. So you were part of his carrier group the first time they were there in the Med? I brought home some great videos from the ship. It was awsome.

Carriers

Carriers are pretty amazing. I was on the USS Harry S Truman for a month. It was a great time.

Interestingly, while I was in Norfolk, I saw a lot of Lincoln LS's. I've only seen 1 on base here - there are a ton of bmw's, lex's, volvo's, audi's, mustangs, explorer's, and jeeps.

Wait till you see one in dry doc. It is absolutely an amazing site to behold.

SE Chapter

El,

I won't be in Florida next weekend, but I will be there May10th-17th, and most of June. So if there is anything interesting going on in Central Florida, let me know.

thanks.

Also, it looks like I am having my first bout of trouble with the LS. I was on the highway in cruise control and it stopped driving. The Oil Light, Tranmission Light, and the Wheel icon came on. I pulled over and started the car back up and it drove like there was nothing wrong. I have a 2000 with 52,000 miles. BTW, there is a button with the wheel icon next to my gear shift stick, what does that do?

That button is traction control. Have you noticed any misfiring? Do you have the V8 or V6. Maybe in June we can have the Central and West Fl owners get together. I traded Sea Duty for Air Duty with the company I work for now so it is hard to tell when and where I will be... just like being in the Navy without the cinderella liberty :)

Welcome, and thanks for your service!

A friend's friend was in Naval Intelligence, and he told us that, while the top speed of a Nimitz class carrier is classified, he once saw one throwing a rooster tail as high as the flight deck. Now that's some serious speed for something that size...
:)
