New Toy/Project - not running

Back to work - popped in new diode for PCM. Alarm light flashing has ceased. All fuses back in except the #18 as referenced above.

attempted to turn over a few times. I hear fuel pump kicking in fine. No start still. After turning over a couple times, I heard a relay under hood go to clicking repeatedly. I pulled the culprit (found it was #7 for fog lamp) then I heard one begin to click in the trunk compartment. That culprit was #1 SSP1 - what the hell is SSP1?
I didn't hear or understand if you said all fuses were checked...With that being said is your COPs Fuse in engine compartment fuse box GOOD?

Ok putting battery on charger for a few hours. Will update again later.

I pulled apart fuse box in engine compartment, all looks good. Clean inside. Pull out big 3 wiring harnesses on firewall, all look clean inside. Will probably need to get the Forscan hooked up to see if one of the modules is bad, which is kind of my guess so far. Or water inside passenger compartment fuse box.

update -
Charged battery. Soaked and cleaned positive cable to remove corrosion. Good voltage all the way through car. Solved the clicking relays and such.

will be connecting Forscan as recommended this weekend and will update afterwards.

so glad you asked. Please explain what COPS is and what it does? And please advise which fuse is this? I am not seeing on diagram.

Ok... I feel really dumb.. coil over plugs? If this is my problem, I’m gonna be both happy and ticked off at the same time. will check in a few when I get back home.

I checked all fuses and relays in the back, have not checked all fuses in front or passenger compartment. Only checked front ones to narrow down where my parasitic draw was coming from

It's fuse 12 under the hood. Coil-On-Plug. It's for the ignition coils.

Went ahead and checked EVERY fuse and relay, all appear to be good. Followed diagrams and made sure all were correct ampage, and in their correct locations also.

if you fellas can think of anything else to check before I get my hands on Forscan this weekend, let me know.

Morning update - I decided to check for fuel, even though I can hear the fuel pump kicking on. Gas gauge shows around half a tank, pushed in the valve on fuel rail, 0 fuel what so ever.

not sure yet if fuel gauge is lying to me, or if something is clogging line or fuel pump not working right?

previous owner did say they replaced the fuel pump when trying to fix it. Keep in mind, the diode for fuel pump was bad also. I currently have a jumper in it while waiting for new diode

I would check out the fuel pump relay also ...but if you hear the pump turn on I would assume its functioning properly ...of course stranger things have happened ....wouldn't hurt to pop off the O Ring and take a look at the fuel pump assembly ...check the fuel pump screen could be hole(s) ....Did the previous owner replace the pump themselves? Or did they bring the car to a certified Mechanic to have it replaced? When was the fuel filter changed?

Got it running today. Hasn’t ran in almost 5 years and it runs like a dream. Since no fuel at fuel rail, I popped off fuel line, let the pump prime, no gas. Took out fuel pump, no gas in the tank. Dropped 5 gallons in, she fired right up. So... $500 car, 2 diodes, and some gas. I’m feeling pretty good right about now.

Due to the fact it has sat for 5 years I strongly suggest...just a suggestion ....put both of these products in the LS
Liqui Moly (20002) Cera Tec Friction Modifier - 300 ml
Liqui Moly 2037 Pro-Line Engine Flush - 500 Milliliters
You can find these products on Amazon or if you don't support Amazon ...go through their website
These products are simply amazing...BMW Owners will live and die by these two products and I have found over the last several years owning Lincoln LSes that this 3.9 jaguar engine absolutely loves them ...Great To Hear You Got Her Started!

Thanks!
Are these for fuel? TransX?
I’ve always been skeptical of flushes in an engine. Gas treatment for sure will be needed.

No these are products for your engine oil...due to the car sitting so long I would suggest cleaning out the engine a bit and the friction modifier is for the engine oil ...read instructions ...all user friendly...but yeah I guess some fuel line cleaner would work ...there is so many detergents in Fuel today and with this car requiring 91 premium I guess I don't go to over board with fuel line cleaning agents myself...I have used REDLINE FUEL SYSTEM CLEANER ONCE

I will check them out!

any ideas on blower motor not working when I have 12V at the harness? (Just posted new thread on it)

Resistor? By the way there are a few hacks on this but I hear it's a real PITA to get to resistor ...entire dash needs to come out...these are not known to fail...My 4 LSes I've owned all had working blower motors

I know you were meticulous when checking fuses ...but check the Blower Motor fuse again just in case...it would be the easiest fix if thats the case ...fingers crossed for you

Double checked.. but fuse good. Have checked literally EVERY fuse and relay. All are good. Resistor appears to be inside the module in the air box? I haven’t started. But looks as if you could pull it down after removing a couple things without removing the entire dash? Wish there was a way to check without tackling this for no reason but this may be narrowing it down to only module/resistor.

You can do the DATC self test and see if any codes pop up also...Google the self test procedure...Lincoln LS DATC self test procedure

perfect.
