Ok, as some of you may know I've had issues with my fan for the last month or so & I haven't been able to work on my car due to my 13-15 work days. I finally get enough time to work on the car today, I disconnect the battery, switch the VCRM, plug the battery back in & the fan & a/c still don't work. I checked all my fuses & they are all great. I wired the fan directly to the fuse box & the fan will run. The a/c won't run when the fan is running straight from the battery though. One thing I did notice is that the wire that runs to the fuse box gets pretty hot.
Could I have just been having fan issues all this time? What do you guys suggest? Again, the fan works but the line gets hot. I had a 25 amp fuse on the socket & it didn't pop it but it melted one side of the fuse! I really need help! My car has been sitting for about 6 weeks now!:(:(:(

Connect the VCRM and fan back, then remove the temperature sensor (not sender! the sensor is nearer to the fuse box, on the cross tube). If the fan will start - VCRM is OK, and maybe there are some other problem.
Also, you remember that without the start of fan (according to the VCRM sensors) conditioner will not work? So the main problem is fan...
Also, there will be some trouble codes in this conditions - what are they?

if you have no freon in the compressor it wont turn on no matter what! you sure you have freon in the system, even if it does have pressure but is too low, the ac wont work.

My stepdad is an A/C, Refrigeration Tech. He checked the system about 3 weeks ago just to make sure I can rule that thought out. Freon is PERFECT!!! It's killing me because this car is giving me issues at least once every 3-4 months.

well you cant rule out that you got a bad vcrm, since your original went bad, or so we think, its possible the replacement is bad too, you already know the fan works since you wired it directly, so we know the fan works, i hate to say it, but try hunting down another vcrm.

Ive still got 2 VCRM's pulled from running cars if your needing one.

Talk to me, I want both of them. Give me your best price. I need to figure things out. I'm going to feel like a retard at this point if I obtain your VCRM's & it still doesnt work.

JAMIE?!?!?!?! Any suggestions i that happens? What do you think it could be???????:confused::confused::confused:

if 2 more vcrm's dont fix it you have a break in a wire somewhere from the fan to the wires original source of power! unplug the fan and test the fan plug.

Hmmm... now that you mention that... The way I did it was that I split the power wire open & attached the wire there. I didn't wire it to the fan, I wired it to the cables that go to the plug that installs into the fan. I didn't do it myself, I had my next door neighbor do it, he's a mechanic. <--Not the brightet color in the coloring box but he's not bad either.:(

did you use a multimeter on any of the wiring?

No comment!:( .... Danny I didn't, again, it was the mechanic next door... I've become lazy with cars, I used to do EVERYTHING to my cars, now I have other priorities. I want to buy a house, I'm getting married, something like a multimeter would be #1 on my check list, just checking the fan would be #1 but instead, I just prefer someone else do it (& fvck up my car)

resurrected this one because of the other one-

if you installed 3 VCRMS and it didn't solve it, it should be obvious that dog don't hunt-it has to be either a wire, connection or the ECM itself (what year is this car?).
The VCRM is the relay for the fan, and you say that there are no other blown fuses that might account for this, so check if there is power to it wherever the pin is for the fan. going into the VCRM-just need a probe tester that you ground one end and stick into the pin (or wires in connectors) to trace the issue.
You sound big-time frustrated, and it is understandable, but if you get some information here about where to look, and you get a meter or a probe to check things out, it's probably not as bad as you think. And after you fix it, you have all those VCRM's to sell, you'll be in demand:D
