Newb, few questions

Hey everyone, my name is Jesse, i have a 2000 Lincoln Ls v6 auto. Its white and has a few misc mods done to it like a air filter, no cats, 20's, h.i.ds, tint and sound system. I noticed there not many things available as far as performance mods, but is there anything i can do to get a little more out of it? I seen that sct makes a handhelp tuner for them and its the same tuner availabke for the mustangs, i was wondering if i could purchase the sct bama sct3 tuner from americanmuscle.com and use it?
 
The v6 gen1 is very underpowered I think it has 232hp or something like that. The ls in general are not great cars to get if you want to go really fast. Not to many options on this departments buddy. And welcome to lvc
 
First things first you got a V6 so you already have a disadvantage.

On top of that you have 20's. Go down to 18's and get a full exhaust, intake and a limited slip with a dyno tune and you will be quicker than now.
 
do they make headers for these and where a good place to get a nice c.a.i(cold air intake) ive tried searching and i cant find shiiiit! lol but thanks guys i know its not the fastest car on the road, not even close but idc about that i was just wondering if theres any mods to make it a little more peppy.

Magnaflow exhaust will give you 15hp. You'll have to get a KKM (or similar) cone air filter. You can also build your own intake tube. Headers will also have to be custom made, but the block is a Duratech so maybe you can find something searching that engine. Check the Contour boards.

I dont even think SCT even makes a tuner for the V6. i looked it up for my girlfriends 2002 LS v6. only found one for the V8 I do believe. But thats just my 2 cents of looking about a month back.

Is it possible to switch these v6 autos over to a 5 speed system? Would be a cool way to make it a LSE Clone. Anyone know about that?
 
So right now mods to come are a custom cai, ive made three this will be the fourth so no worries there, put on some magnaflows. Next question anyone make midpipes? h-x pipe? and I love nitrous but can these cars handle it? If anything i want my car to last as long as possible, not give it a shorter life lmao.
 
^^ yeah nitrous in a stock and you might as well stick the needle in its arm, well atleast any shot that would make it worth it, i mean a 25 shot would probably be okay but thats hardly worth 500 bucks
 
actually i've seen a few sprayed 6ers over the years, a stock motor shouldn't have any problems with a 75 shot as long as its tuned properly, i thought i remember somebody that was spraying 150 all the time on a stock motor, but i may be wrong on that.
 
Yeah, it's all in the tune!!

I've had nitrous on my mustang for 7 years now (100 shot) with no problems at all. Tuning basics are 2 degrees initial retard for every 50 hp increase, one range colder plugs and of course the best fuel you can buy at the pump. Install a 255 lph pump at least and make sure the engine is sound.

If you miss these basics it'll can turn you engine into scrap faster then you can left off the pedal, my brother learned this the hard way on a $4K short block that had only about 1500 miles on it. Melted an Arias forged piston and scored the cylinder wall bad!

If set up right it can be a lot of fun and safe.

The timing isn't manually adjustable in the LS. It's computer controlled so you would need a special calibration.
