Newbie Questions??? Throttle response/Shift points- Hand held tuner

I'm really liking the LS so far. I do have a couple of questions if anyone can help. Is it me or is the factory throttle response a little slow? It feels like at take off i have to press the pedal a bit more than i'm normal use to on my other vehicles. Also the car shifts fine but for more spirited driving can the shift points be adjusted any? Firmness, rpm etc.. Same for the throttle response. I think SCT seems to be the Tuner to have so if anyone has one of these please chim in. Or knows another good Tuner to get. Are these even things a Tuner can adjust for?
