I have a minor coolant leak at the upper trans. cooler fitting. Just weeping not pouring out. Before I turn a minor problem into a major one , can I tighten the nut in the photo or is this even repairable ? It is only leaking coolant .. the Trans. fluid is fine. DSC_0405.jpg

Thanks in advance for any input. I am having way too much fun driving this car ... By far, the best car I have have owned ..

you have a coolant leak, at the trans fitting?

i would be doing new radiator. i don't want those to fluids mixing.

If you're talking about the fitting that's a part of the radiator, those are non-repairable. You're looking at a new radiator unit. Not an expensive part and pretty easy to do.

Thanks .. I had a feeling a new radiator was needed... just wanted to make sure an easy fix wasn't out there ... I hate working on coolant stuff .. makes such a mess... and then the burping ....

Call Phil at LKQ and buy a keystone radiator. They are inexpensive and carry a lifetime warranty. 1-800-362-9451 x6747

Don't tighten it though, might run the risk of cracking the tank. Do what the peanut gallery is saying and you will be fine.

this is definately an easy fix, i've been thrue 2 radiators plus had it out doin other stuff. its very simple and my first time it took me about 30 minutes the hardest part was the transmission lines. like k9t8m said hit up lkq or other self service yards and get one for cheap. owning a mark you will learn to love the do it yourself yards

Picked one up at PB's for around $100. Was shocked when I opened the box, it was made in Canada NOT china.

Thanks folks .. I was very tempted to just tighten it up but figured i would check here first .. glad I did. I 'll order one and get it done. The gasket probably dried out while it sat in storage with the previous owner.
