What is the best kit for the marks and what preporations should be made for NOS? Also what is a safe amount of hp for are cars do to the fact of there age and mileage. Is it true the looser the motor the better for NOS? By the way great idea for a performance only section.

I would not go any higher than a 150 HP shot. as long as your engine is in good shape. I would go with a dry system, wet systems can backfire and create a big mess. I prefer NOS brand.

With any power adder, you have to be concerned about the strength of your engine. Remember, we have the same block as a Cobra, but dont have the forged cobra crank. If you add too much boost you can break that crankshaft, among other things.

sounds good. my car has 108000 but is very powerful and shows no signs of being weak. Ill probably go with a 100 to be safe.

I've been squeezing my Mustang for 10 years, 125HP. it has a cast crank and hyperutectic aluminum pistons. no problems at all. just read your spark plugs and retard timing a bit. I run my bottle at 1000psi.

My Lincoln engine service manual says that the crank is forged. this is a factory/dealership manual. so is it wrong?

Yes it is wrong if it says the crank is forged because it is cast. It doesn't really matter though because cast crank are solid and have been used in up to 1000hp applications in all types of different V8 engines. No one ever breaks their crank anyway it's the pistons and rods and valves that drop.

wow, good to know! everything I have read about the lincoln Mark VIII engine had led me to believe that they had forged cranks. It doesn't matter to me though, all I have ever had are cast cranks, and no problems.

I have been running a 125 shot for a couple of years now , so far no problems whatsoever (except a broken motor mount from launching)
and I have over 100k miles.

I am using a 5115 NOS kit. (dry)

You will also need a 255 lpm fuel pump, adj fuel pressure regulator and gauge.
Don't forget the drag radials ! You will need them .

Couldn't have done it without you my Brotha !!
I never get tired of seeing that vid !!

well I got the kit. I guess I'll start out with the 100 shot first, but I will be moving up to the 150 shot as soon as I get it dialed in.
Ordered new HP fuel pump & adjustable regulator. installing this winter with brake upgrades.

naaawwwss !!!!

Call it nitrous oxide please.:D Hearing somone say "nawws" conjures up images of F+F 1 and Vin Diesel running from an explosion that would never have happened.:shifty: So yeah you got it right in your later post.
