Eh, I like my NT05's more since I switched, 555's are decent tho, on dry pavement, wet they kinda stink. I think Im going with Toyo's next time around.
I like my 55's a lot, I did have the Nitto Envo's and liked them more, they were quieter, I just had the wrong size and they would rub badly so went back to the 555's I had
I just put these on myself. I love them, especially for the price. They have a nice tread pattern and a wide footprint. They are very popular tires in the Mustang circles. True that they are not as good in rain, but they do fine and overall are a great tire for the money. They are very quiet as well. Hope this helps
I had Nitto 555R2 315/35x17 on the back and 275/40x17 on the front. I found them to be adequate on wet pavement until they were down to the wear-bar. Car stuck to the corners like a go-cart and hooked up well on the city streets and highway. I never could get a good hook up at New England Dragway whether I ran them cold or heated using the water box. I heard similar comments from others that they worked well on the street but not the track. The oval racer I bought them from loved them on the circuit, He also said the stuck well, especially with the R2 compound. Just be prepared to only get about 6K miles out of them.
I'd buy them again.
I have the 555's on my 92 Mustang and I'm happy with them (245/17 and 275/17). Only driven them a couple times in the rain and they are adequate with 3:73 gears and perform very well on dry pavement during "spirited" driving (twisties) and with very little rut tracking on the highways.
