the heat on my mark 7 isnt working well at all. i got the car a few months ago and havent learnd alot about the problems these cars are common for. anyway the air blows out well but only at about the outside temp. also the a/c doesnt blow cold anymore, just somewhat cool (this sucks real hard since my windows dont roll down right now just the sunroof opens :Bang ) any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated so i can have it fixed befor winter.

You need to be a little more specific as to what you've done troubleshooting wise. Did the car operate this way when you bought it or did the loss of a/c and heat happen after purchase? If you bought your Mark this way, it could be that, among several other things, the heater core has been disconected. As for the a/c, start with being sure all parts are connected.

Might want to first try switching between hot temp and cold temp (adjust the temperature up and down) to see if the blend door is opening and closing. The blend door is located behind the dash housing. It's sorta behind the tripminder on the heater box.

You should be able to hear the blend door actuator (electric motor) opening and closing the door.

i bought the car with the heater not working and the the a/c used to be colder than what it is know. i just changed to a 160 degree thermostat and the heat seemed like it was getting a little warmer but i think it was just because it was hot outside. as far as the blend door i definetly dont hear any motor when i change from hot to cold or vise versa.

Be sure your heater hoses are hooked up and, if so, they should be hot with the heater on (engine fully warmed up). If they are, it's possible your door may not be operating. If the hoses are not hot, be sure to check your coolant level, because if it is low, it could affect your heating.
As for the a/c, you may just need a little freon. Leak test the system before adding any freon or it will just leak out again, if that is your problem.
BTW, I would install the proper 195 degree thermostat. The reason being your ECM will think the engine is not fully warmed up causing the engine to run rich and waste fuel. You don't need that at $3.00 per. Good luck.

wow, didnt know that :Bang havent really noticed a big difference in gas yet, the car runs much cooler now though. the temp guage used to run right at half way and now the needle sits on the N on normal. luckly i dont have to drive the car as my daily driver. i do wanna keep the extra cooling for when i do actually drive it hard :L
