no heat

looking for help guys. I cant get heat from the car unless I give it full throtle about 5-6 times after it has heated up? (Burp the throtle) It's a 2001 LS with a 3.9. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Make sure coolant is at the right level and try bleeding the system, check out TECH ARTICLE on draining the cooling system, and bleeding.

Sounds like a failed (open) thermostat.

Actually, it sounds like the classic symptom of a failed aux coolant pump. There are a few threads on it.
A stuck thermostat would cause your temperature gauge to read low and if it kept the engine so cool that you got no heating, it would also trip the check engine light.

I bet my money on an open thermostat. Easy to check. Pull it and see it.
