O2 Simulator wiring

My passenger side catalytic converter isn't working like it should.... so the check engine light is on. I tried wiring in a O2 Simulator but it threw the code saying it no response to sensor or something to the effect that the sensor is not responsive.

Has anyone wired in an O2 dummy sensor on their LS and been successful? And what colors to connect when wiring? I don't want to spend the money for a new catalytic converter when it's barely below its threshold.
