Obama Stimulus Plan...

Foss told me that the president has nothing to do with the stock market whatsoever when I pointed out to him that the market does better when there is a Democratic president. I believed he called it 'correlation to prove causation' and quickly told me I FAILED... ;)

Not suprisingly you are mischaracterizing fossten. Here is what he said:
Conclusion drawn. The article did NOT draw this conclusion; in fact, the article pointed out that to do so is to use correlation to prove causation.

He was pointing out what the article said.

He called you on making a logical leap. What you concluded was not supported by the article in question and was, in fact, rejected by it. The info given apparently didn't support your conclusions.

You're absolutely right. There was absolutely nothing going on during those months that could have had an impact on stock markets. It's entirely Obama's fault.

You really wanna go here?

In all those years (2007-2008) liberals controlled both houses. The problems that blew up in that time frame (and are still in fallout today) had snowballed from liberal agendas put in place under Carter (CRA), strengthed under Clinton and purposely and willfully ignored by democrats under Bush (even though both Bush and McCain said there was a crisis looming).

YouTube - EVIDENCE FOUND!!! Clinton administration's "BANK AFFIRMATIVE ACTION" They forced banks to make BAD LOANS and ACORN and Obama's tie to all of it!!!

YouTube - Shocking Video Unearthed Democrats in their own words Covering up the Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac Scam that caused our Economic Crisis

Besides, the stock markets are much more sensitive to the final months of a presidential election, especially during an economic downturn, then to what a lame duck president is doing. Your point in no way down plays (let alone disproves) Bryan's point.

If you're really worried about the rate of growth of the national debt, you should be overjoyed that the President is a Democrat.

National-Debt-GDP.gif

The gross national debt compared to GDP (how rich we are) reached its lowest level since 1931 as Reagan took office in 1981. It skyrocketed for 12 years through Bush senior. Clinton reversed it at a peak of 67%. Bush junior crossed that line on Sept. 22 and hit 69% on Sept 30. That's the highest it's been since 1955.

Bush did three things to skyrocket the debt from $5.7 trillion to $10 trillion:
1. He lowered taxes on the rich (by far the biggest item).
2. He invaded Iraq instead of winning in Afghan-Pakistan (another $600 B).
3. He deregulated Wall Street speculators. That bailout has now "invested" $1T

So, Foss, I am so sorry, I misinterpreted your argument on the other thread. You do agree with me that the president does have an impact on the stock market? I am shocked... Well, do I have some great numbers for you to look at... ;)

And heck, I wouldn't protest being tackled by the New York Giants linebacker corp....:)

Nice attempt at a save, but again you fail. I never said anything of the kind.

No, I asked you a question...

You do agree with me that the president does have an impact on the stock market?

Note the squiggly thing at the end of the sentence...

So, do you agree with me that the president has an impact on the stock market?

Simple yes or no question.

That is why I was shocked, it now appears that you agree with me? I am sure that is hardly the case... ;)

This is why I am asking - I am very confused. I thought in the other thread that you were arguing that the president didn't have anything to do with the fluctuations in the market. I was using you as source...

Obama has already had a chilling effect on the market and the economy, thanks to his constant diarrhea of the mouth.

The President CAN have an effect on the market, indirectly.
But movements in the market aren't necessarily caused by the President.

The period since November 21 is unique because it's distinctly associated with Obama. Because of the government intervention in the markets, everyone is looking directly to him and later, his administration, for signals. The negative stock numbers are absolutely influenced by the statements and policy decisions he has made.

Dude can't even spell haircut properly.

Or is he saying to get just one hair cut?

Go make yourself more competitive with the world and stop asking the government to support your incompetence.
Learn how to read and understand English and then we'll have a discussion.

The uber liberal telling the uber conservative to "stop asking the government to support your incompetence". lmao. Mr. Rolling Stoned wins the trolling comment of the month award. :woowoo2:
