Ok...for those who don't know...I have a 2005 LS with stock HIDs.... I was going to upgrade to a different color bulb....but does anyone know our wattage???? I am guessing 35w...but the place I am geeting it from has 35w, 55w...and even 75w & 100w...they said higher the W...the life of the bulb will most likely be less....but brighter out put. Sooo... will I be ok with a 55W??? Wanna do 55w 6000K..... yes? No? ...can I do a 75w? Haha...don't wanna over load my stock unit....any insight would be appreciated! =)

Thanks in advanced! -JJ

Stock is 35 Watts. If you don't want to be soon replacing the expensive stock ballasts, then you should stick with 35 watts.

I think 35w with 6000k would be the same as if you did 55w with 6000k except the 55w wouldn't last as long...

Yeah never mind it was that a 55w 8000k would look like a 35w 6000k...the output on a 55w tends to distort the higher it goes...I would just stick to 35w & go as high as you want from their

Yeah....that's what I was worried about....don't wanna mess up that ballast.....so 35W it is! Now.....debating....6000K or 8000K?!? Hmmmmm...... I don't want too much color....cops can be punks sometimes around here....soooooo agh...... I guess.... 35W 6000K! Ok.....sounds good....that is a little more color than stock, right??? I am guessing our stock is like 4500K? Something like that...right?
Ok, anyways......Thanks everyone for your answer!

I wanna say stock is 4300K.

And I agree with all the above to stick with OEM wattage.

Yeah stock is 4300K

I have 6K's and they have a slightly blue tint to them. They look good with the angel eyes

i have 6000 fogs and the stock hid i wish the headlights were as bright as my fogs..my only option would be to switch the headlights...can i do bulbs or do i have to do bulbs and ballasts to do that

It's an illusion.

6000K has less lumens than 4300K, fact.

Your fogs project light differently (read = glare).

Your headlights have a cutoff.

Yeah thats why i stayed stock with the headlights and just color matched the fogs with leds.

You should have went with vleds led foglights.

I put some HIDs from DDM Tuning for my fogs. I got 35w 4500k and they came out a really bright white. My stock HIDs are a lot bluer then my fogs.

Like M4rk said,

Maybe you think your fogs are brighter because they will blind you if you look at them, but stock hids dont have light pointed towards your eyes, unless you get down at eye level with it.

I bought 4500k from ddm before for the fogs, they had blue in them for some reason. I recently bought 5000k from them and they are pure white.

I wanted 8000k for my headlights and 6000k for my fogs, mainly for looks. I bought my D2R stock replacement bulbs off Ebay from autoarmour-auctions. They have worked great for the last 3 months now but kept my stock HID bulbs for back ups of corse. For my fogs I always buy from VVME.com. Been using their plug and play kits for a long time now in all my cars and never had any probs. Best and cheapest kits buy far! You can search for VVME sellers on ebay as well, they seem to be cheaper than buying strait from their site.

got a pair of 10,000k headlight and fog lights with ballast laying around for sale if anyone interested ?? just PM me we figure something out.:)

Dammit! If they were 6k, I would totally jump on it.. :)

lol the 10k dont look bad at all im just always changing stuff keeps me in the garage for awhile away from the wife and kids sometimes. O hunny im outside working on the car lol :D
