my moms 1998 honda accord threw a code, egr valve, 140k miles so im thinking its dirty and clogged, im going to take it apart and clean it and see if that works first, any advice is appreciated, basicly thinking i just need a replacement gasket if needed, and some carbon cleaner thanks

There are several codes for EGR, and each indicates a slightly different problem area. Which exact code did you get?

not sure, she went to the store and got it read, but she said the guy told her it is either the clogged valve or the sensor, he even told her to go fast on the highway to blow it out lmao, i told her i would clean it before that
