If your doing normal daily driving and do not live in extreme conditions, your probably not gaining the benefit of using Synths... But, lets be honest Quick... Your pushin the RPM levels on a regular basis!! Anybody who pushes the RPM levels into the red zone on a regular basis benefits from the added protection of Synths... Especially in the HOTT summer days!!! I say better safe than sorry!

Man i don't know quik... I am still a strong believer that synthetic is a lot better.. I mean i would think that from what i have read that it is more lubricating the regular oils, meaning it will run cooler. A friend of mine is a reseller for royal purle sythetic oils and he has told me from his experiences hauling heavy trailers with trucks and such that the rearend will tend to cooler then regular oils. Don't know if he actually took a thermostat reading or what. But trannys run a lot better.

me too - I think the point they were trying to make (before the 'since before you were born' comment) is that regular oil works, and that the syn oil is better oil but the better parts of syn oil will never be used - so why pay more.

for me, a couple of more dollars each oil change is worth putting in the best oil.

I am not going to switch back at this point. I drive fast and it does get hot hot hot here during the dog days of summer. Traffic sucks and more times than none there is a bottleneck or traffic jam some where around tampa. We have a portion of our highway that has been called malfunction junction for decades and I do not want to get stuck in it on one of the dog days. It is worth the extra money to me.

plus if you get the oil change at walmart the dino oil change is about 22 and the synth is 32. If I get in a pinch I will go to supper wally world and continue the synthetic treatment.
