I oil pressure tested my 68,000 mile mark last night. Iv been trying to find the cause of the loud valve train I have at idle.
i will admit when I bought the car 3 years ago I added underdrives w/ fluid dampener ......I used an impact
not sure how bad these readings are.
cold idle 80 psi
hot idle 15 psi
hot @ 2000 rpm 50psi
hot @2500 rpm 60psi
hot @3000 rpm 75psi
the car sounds good at start up but once the rpms fall to 800 the sound starts instantly whether the engine is hot or cold. engine always sounds better by giving it more throttle
Im think that the hot idle is low but my cold idle doesn't seem too bad, yet the valve train and timing chain are pretty loud even at a cold idle. the oil light has never come on ether
previously I thought it might have been bad lash adjusters, so i replaced all 16 in the passenger head but it made no improvement.
