ok girls the start of my face lift.

Ya know I think the brakes would look much better if you leave the calipers red and paint the brackets black. It would tie in better and give a more finnished look. I would also paint the pads circle clips that show through the calipers black. Just my .02
 
i dont really care for the red...but i think it would look better with the black calipers. good idea jamie :)

Actually after further looking at the pics, if it were mine I would leave it the way it is and not touch a damn thing. The chrome on the window is after further looks a difinition outline piece that it needs. The calipers I personally think look great red especially from a distance. But that is just me, it looks awesome just the way it is.

But you could put a yellow stripe down it too, then again :D
 
laser, i think i like that idea about the brackets black and keep the calipers red, if i go with it, i'll give ya the credit! i'll try one and see how it looks.
 
Glad to see you sticking with the red stripe. I think it looks great! Besides my car,I think yours is the only other one I know of with any kind of stripe on the wheel.
 
i didnt realize yours had one, i know you have the one on the hood i think, and the red in the body mouldings, your rims are a bronze color arent they?

Its more like a brown color. My dad custom mixed it and I liked it,but wanted to contrast the gold/orange pearl in the car with the wheels a bit more. So the stripe was added and I liked the blue nutz so I left them on. The molding where the chrome went was flaking,and orange electrical tape went on it,I really liked the way everything played together. Along with the gold calipers

I think the red calipers and stripe look great, and I think Laser's idea of painting the brackets black would look even better.

I was considering doing the same stripe and caliper paint, along with painting the chrome strip along the bumpers/door mouldings on my 1st gen... Now it's gonna look like I'm copying you and isiah. Might do it anyway.

copy away, just do something to yours to make it just a hair different, then its not really copying! i'm gonna try the black bracket, red caliper idea i think that would look awesome.
 
I have no problem with someone doing what I do. I take people's idea and twist them up a bit. That way I'm not 100% copying. Anyways,the rim stripe is not an original idea,but it's clean and different. The stripe on the side is my dea,havent seen that anywhere.
I think the bracket idea is sweet! Might try something one day with it.
 
Are you saying his car looks like it has 4 vaginas?
 
I like the stripe on the wheels but the center caps look funny. The window chrome looks SO out of place now. I would try also adding red somewhere else to tie it in, like maybe black window trim out and try a thin stripe of red around it. Just a personal opinion.

Oh and....

I called dibs on the chrome speedstars the day you told me you were gonna be buying new rims when you did my air ride swapout. I was all "let me know first if you ever want to sell those"... :(
 
Looking good. Similiar to the Harley Night Rod; I wanted the all black with orange striping on the rims....looks sweet.

What else are you planning to do to your 'face lift'? Or do we just have to wait and see?

well i dont think you have $600 dollars burning a hole in your pocket, and i am not saying you would have done it, but when i sell something, its either pay now or forget it, i dont hold stuff for people or take payments, and a buddy of mine came up with the money instantly, so off they went, done deal. and as far as what else am i doing, i will be doing it soon enough so pics will follow, i may go back to all my pics since i got the car and start a progress thread since i never did with this mark. i have tons of pictures of everything i have done, so that way the haters cant say all i did was buy my car the way it is, its far from the way i bought it now, its been almost a year and a half, alot has changed.
 
yeah, and the car they are going on is at my shop, so i dont have to ship nothing either, cant ask for anything easier!

My wife says your wheels look like yummy chocolate!!! :D lol. I think they look sick!
 
love the red stripe. you need to break up all the black somehow. i blacked out my 97 f150 and as soon as i was done i didnt like it, tossed on some chrome beauty rings and viola 100 times better
 
it is broken up, the chrome trim around the windows is still chrome, i am leaving it like that so that part is done. now i just need the hood and front bumper done.
