So, i finally got the beater in good condition, and gave it a little pep talk with Edelbrock's Triangle air filter thing. I tell ya, it sure sounds nice at WOT. I cut off the exhaust at the rear of the mufflers, and when reving her now, it sounds like im down at the strip. I am happy....but, when i was getting the filter, someone in line told me that he calls that filter the...Triangle of fire. Because, when you get a backfire in the carb it will catch on fire. Has anyone used this filter before, and perhaps had that problem? Just tryin to save my hyde.

a pic of the filter, incase you dont know what im talking about....please dont mind all the cluster fu<k in there.

yeah, I have used those filters before and they suck. The intake sounds really good but for some reason mine had started to melt at certain points. Some of it had to do with getting the timing right on my new engine, (it backfired a couple times) but it seemed to progressively melt in certain spots. I had it on my car for a while and I wouldn't be too woried about a fire if I was you but I would go to a different filter.
