I promise to nicer if you promise to be smarter.
I got a new set of tunes from Spartan in anticipation of my EGR delete. They sold me all of their tunes for 100 bucks.

Anyway, after setting up my DashDaq with the new licenses, I loaded up the 310HP tune for S&G's.

For a second there, I thought I was accelerating in my CL65, since I wasn't moving. The truck was roasting the duallies with ease.

I switched back a 210HP EGR tune, since the 310 was a deleted EGR tune.

I can't wait to get rid of the EGR system, load up the 310 and strap the truck down on my buddy's dyno again, now.

I'm curious if I see 1300 ftlbs, since we saw 1104ft lbs on the 210 "hp" tune.

That is all.

~goes to his corner to weep~

ps. Sorry about the black cloud rising over the Rockies. That was my bad.

You have the 6.4 correct? Those make awesome power with just cold air, exhaust and tune. What would take me 5k to accomplish in my 6.0,can be done to the 6.4 for about 1.5-2k. I wonder how fords new scorpion engine runs? Have you driven one yet frog?

I drove one. It sounds like a damned gasser. I didn't like it.

I do love the new gauge cluster, though. I'm looking into swapping my 08 cluster with a 2011 cluster. Apparently, it's a direct plug-in. Marrying it to the various modules could pose a problem, though.

How are they as far as power? They are supposed to be 400hp out of the box or close to that.

HP don't mean anything on a pick-up truck. ;)

It was... responsive. But you have to understand my truck puts down a lot more power to the wheels than the 2011 does. As such, I wasn't too... impressed with it.

I guess it has decent giddyup...

i i had a ford pickup, this would be it, fully loaded :-D

I know a place where they have so many of them, they sell them.

cause I either want a raptor (If i could ever get one for 25k or less), or a VW 2010+ GTI, or a 2011 5.0GT Mustang, or 2010+ V6 Mustang......

When I turn 25 this august I will try and make a decision as by that time my total monthly bills will be 870 per month (includes rent) out of my 5000 i make a month...so I have room to play with....

I just got rid of my Gasser F250.

They ONLY way I'll buy another is if it burns oil. Full size trucks should NOT burn gasoline.

And I hav'nt heard much about the 6.7other than they are.........quick.

I'm sorry but if it does'nt put out the dB's of a 12/24V Cummins, or 7.3 Stroke I don't want it.

Gawd I love TD Ford trucks.

My first encounter with their power was in 2002. I had an Audi S4 Bi-Turbo with the big APR chip, Remus full exhaust, upgraded pipes and bypass valves, bigger injectors and pumps. Car made 435 HP at all four wheels. Car was a blast and I thought I was king swingin dick. I pull up to a F-250 that still had paper plates at a light and he started revin me. Had my GF in the car so of course I was gonna school this truck. Light turns green and I bark all four tires dumping the clutch at 5k........ truck LIT UP all four tires and stayed on my back bumper and then started gaining ground untill we had to stop at the next light. I followed the guy to K-Mart to check this beast out. He had a big turbo and intercooler, big pumps, small nitrous shot and a meth injection setup with some tune. He said it made 1200 rwtq before the dyno pegged and was at only 2000rpm.

Had new respect for them after that.

Your truck though is a particular bad ass. Love them 450's and the way yours is done up with all that custom CF stuff.

:eyeroll: :Bang

Lots of noise from a diesel does not equal power.

Why are people so stuck on the 7.3 and/or the Cummins? I mean, seriously.

Yes, they were reliable units. But so are the new diesels. The 6.4 is relatively trouble free. So is the new Cummins motor. And, they are both a hell of a lot easier to make power out of with simple tunes.

C'mon there Frog.........we've discussed this.

I understand your viewpoint. BUT, I like the 7.3L.

EASY to work on, respectable bolt-on power, and cheap enough to keep Stacie from castrating me. Your 450 does nothing but impress me, but I can't hang in that class.

:)

I know you like the 7.3, Mike. Nothing wrong with that, really. When I win the lottery (gotta start playing it firsT), I'll buy you a brand spanking new current model year diesel of your choice. Then you'll forget about the 7.3. LOL

You know me and how I like to impress people... not. My 450 is nothing fancy. It's the right tool for what I need to tow. Hell, half the time it's full of mud and can't barely make out what it is.

this looks fun too and with the APR tune you'll be hitting around the new A4's 2.0T power/tq with 254 horsepower and 297lb-ft. of torque instead of the stock 200hp/206tq

Sounds like fun....

all i know is that my next truck will be a crew cab instead of extended... love my 7.3, it was cheap and has given me relatively no issues (300k and running strong) now with that said if a 6.0 or 6.4 came along for the right price i wouldnt mind upgrading. I really like the look of the 08 style but didnt want the payment that came along with the truck...
