What would cause one caliper not to work?

The right rear, has a 'new' rotor, reman'ed caliper on it since last spring, just replaced a wheel bearing and noticed it isn't being used. As in rusty, no pad contact.

Swapped hoses presuming that maybe the line had collapsed, but nope - there's no fluid coming out of the line either with the brakes applied (ignition on).

What do you guys think, problem with a hard line crushed/collapsed underneath the car somewhere?

It couldn't be the master cylinder if the other side works, correct?

Open the bleeder valve and have someone help you bleed it, if you get no fluid, then remove the hose from the line and check there, I still no fluid, remove line from splitter and check there...work your way towards the master cylinder..you've either got a rust/dirt clog somewhere or a pinched line (if hoses are new) if you remove hose from caliper, make sure you replace BOTH copper gaskets ....if you have any other questions..254-228-3453

did you replace the caliper yourself? I would like pictures, I've had a tech accidentally leave his hose clamp on a car before

Never thought about checking at the splitter, yep - I did replace the caliper myself (both rears last year), the old one wasn't working either - assumed it was frozen. It did bleed right initially though....

I may just replace the master cylinder just to be sure as well (have a spare).

Friggen car.

If you replace the master cylinder, make sure you bench bleed it first, new ones normally come with 2 hoses and hose attachments, screw the plastic couplers in where the lines go, put the hoses on them and then stick the ends of those hoses inside the resevoir, them place it in a vise and using a screw driver to work the cylinder until all the bubbles are out
