Oo ls running ruff

Wen I was cleaning the air filter I notice that the tube was broken. M fiberglassing it right now. Hope it make a difrance
 
Fixing the tube I dont have a problem reaching the high rpms ,the tubr was the problem. Now I still hg ave a litle shake, like a misfire here n there. I will check the sparks n coils again. I will post my findings.
 
I intall the fuel filter, new spark plugs. A code came out that cilinder number 1 was acting up so I bought all new coils on that side(4 of them) the ones I hade onthere were pery new to.i I took the car to do the smog and it dint pass. That the car ir running to rich n made the car a grosspoluter. Any ideas, I dont now what to do no more n dont go to much cash, anyone help:(.... oooo when I drove the car back from the smog shop ,it was runing like $#!+. But no codes please help...
 
If you replaced the coils after changing the plugs, those new plugs are also bad now. Replace plugs again. A malfunctioning coil instantly ruins plugs.
 
Ok I will try that, but how do I now wich cilinder is bath sense I dont got any codes. I will go n get all 4 spark plugs on that side. And if a coil is bad n ruin the spark plug how I now wich one is bad? Sorry, I love my ride but right now want the devorse lol. Tnkx for the help everyone :)
 
To be safe, change all 4 plugs on the side that just had new coils installed.
 
The new coils should be just fine. Simply change the 4 plugs that are still being used with the new coils.
 
M going to get this done this morning, on my way to oraleys, I got craft aspark plugs last time. Is there a better one then that and will work good on the ls v8?
 
Ok change the spark plugs n still the same. No check ingine on. I conected a snap on code reader n got missfire on #7. I will change the spark plug n coil even tho they r new.i will post my findings
 
Change everything, all spark plugs n coils again. No codes, but still seems like is runing with 7 pistons at 55 to 60 mph. I let go the gas to 50mph then accelerate nurmal and theres wen it looks like it runs in 7 pistons

Let a mechanic drive it and tell you if it feels the same as what you are describing.

Check for codes. Run the KOER test and look at the misfire counts. If one cylinder has counts and the others don't, look at the connector to that fuel injector. If it's okay, maybe the injector is clogged.
 
Joegr: thanks I will try that n see if I get readings. I got tool to do it. So runing the koer test should get readings on all 8 pistons? . Tnks for the help, I lost my job n can afor a mecanic lol the economy n all lol.

It seems you have a communications problem between the REM and the PCM. It may or may not be related to your symptoms. I think that I would start by removing all the relays in the trunk relay box and checking to see if they look okay and if there sockets are good. (maybe it's really a power problem?)

Does your scan tool give you the misfire counts for each cylinder after the KOER test? If so, did any cylinders have counts over zero?

Can your scan tool monitor live values? If so, I'd look at fuel pressure and at fuel pump PWM. You might as well look at the fuel level senders too.
 
Yes, it gives live data, I was looking at that but I dont now the numbers it should be. I will do that in the mirning n post what #s I got. I will check all the relays n will post findings
 
 
Took the car to the shop n no results, may have to bring the car back the same n hg going to still pay for nothing lol
 
Why no results? Any mechanic worth their salt would not just send the car back with an "I don't know" so quickly. Hold them more accountable or find an accountable mechanic.
 
Have you replaced the PCV? Spray throttle body cleaner around the air intake to check for vac leak or starter fluid spray.
 
Got the car back this morning

I pay 625 just to sit the car at the shop, they :(dint fix it,dont now what to do. Is rainingg hard out here but I will check for leaks n see what I can do. Tankx for the advisd I will check that to day.
