Overheating SOLVED!

do your marks really over heat like that, I never had a problem, my friend was alittle high, but in my two marks I have never ran into a cooling problem, I always saty in the A and M in traffic

I noticed mine more after the underdrive crank pulley and 3500 stall converter driving in hot weather with the AC on in hilly/mountainous terrain.

Hey Guys

This stuff was originally designed for heavy towing and motorhomes. We used it up north when travelers were trying to get to Canada through NY and the adirondak mountains. Not really steep hills but long drawn out ones that really took the toll on the mini motor homes not set up for the loads. After putting it in they never had a o/heat problem again. Of course that is saying that the cooling sys is operating properly. I cannot say it actually dropped the temp by 40 degrees as advertised but the gage showed a substantial drop. And they all had trans coolers, but the a/c was running so that is kinda an even swap sorta.

Until I could afford to replace the radiator in my Q45, I used this stuff just to get by. It was $15 when I bought it and the price has almost doubled since then.

It does indeed work wonders!

Question to related cooling problem

ok, ill try the 40 below but i dont think thats my problem. I have a 93 mark with 155k on it. It started overheating, it has new radiator, waterpump, thermosthat, fan. The fan turns on no prob. It started when i powerbraked the wheels doing a burnout, the temp gauge rockets up, but the engine doesnt feel hot at all. i changed the thermosthat and it was good for about a month, then the temp gauge does all kinds of wacky things, it goes up and down in a matter of seconds. oh and i replaced the coolent temp sensor. If i take the cap off it will burp out some fluid and say low coolent. It will go to the L in normal but no farther then drop down top the r for a while and then go up again in no specific pattern. im a pretty decent mechanic but ive never seen a car act like this. The only thing i can think of is air in the system?,,,,,,,any ideas?

thanks guys

40 below can be bought at your local Parts America, Autozone, and other places. It's great stuff. As a 'vette owner also, I have used it regularly to keep my vette under control in the summer. Just remember, ALWAYS follow the instructions, completely flush the radiator before filling, and make sure to remove it and put in fresh anti-freeze if you live where the temps will drop below 0*. I run 40 below in all my cars in the summer to keep them nice and cool.
Sneaks
P.S.
The other bonus is the A/C will work more efficiently as well.

Water wetter did not work all that well in my 355cu S10. I ended up putting in a custom made 4500 cfm fan, aluminum radiator, and cowl hood to expel the heat and that did the trick, even when 100 degrees outside. Of course I still used the wetter, but with all these other mods. (of course trans cooler too). May have to try out this stuff though to see the difference.

Head gasket, air in the system, or auto-zone thermostat.
