I recently bought a 2000 Lincoln ls don't know much about these motors card rives great but over heats only when the ac is on and driving read a few forums and everyone sayin air in the system is this the most common problem in this case??? also I noticed today when I checked the heat on it it blows room temp air on driver side and hot air on passenger side what could cause this????

It seems like you probably already have your answer... (But you should also check the operation of the hydraulic cooling fan.)

I recently bought a 2000 ...

OK, so we know the plastic plumbing cooling system is 14yrs old.

It's developed a crack in the system as the old plastics are deteriorating and is not able to maintain pressure.
You'll likely not be able to get the cap off the fill neck on the thermostat housing for bleed procedure,
and eventually you'd find the degas bottle leaking down behind the driver's front wheel.

- OEM Degas bottle
- Jag upgrade aluminum thermostat housing
- Motorcraft thermostat w/ring
- Inlet & out coolant pipes
- DCCV & Auxiliary pump.

DCCV (dual climate control valve) ... part of the cooling system.

....and maybe $500 to $700 for all of these parts? I think the Gen 2 plastics are approx. $500 in full. Gen 1 with the Jag aluminum piece and DCCV may make that $800+? All without labor.

Actually, I think the gen I parts are less expensive.

It could be the DCCV, but it could also just be the trapped air in the system from the cracked parts.
