Hey guys. Had a problem retrieving my username and password, so I had to start all over. Oh well.

The question: I have a 95 Mark that was sitting for a while (long story). It was running rough when I finally started it. Decided to go ahead and change the plugs. The driver side plugs were toast. The center electrodes looked almost melted, or at least excessively worn. I suspect a lean mixture. I do not have a check engine light. The temperature of the cats are virtually the same. The car is still sputtering and intermittantly losing power.

I believe I have a bad o2 sensor on the driver side. Does this sound right? If I am not mistaken, it would be the pre-cat sensor. Is that right?

Thanks for your input.

If there is any question just replace both front ones...

I'd recommend OEM sensors... and I would also go over the whole car for vacuum leaks.

chump_change, not that I posted a whole bunch. But very thankful for all the great info. I guess I really need to update my profile.

Man, I doused the engine with carb cleaner. No change in idle speed. I might try it again, just to be sure.

Well, I only replaced the driver side. It didn't fix it. I hate throwing parts at cars! Do I need to reset the computer? The next thing I'm going to do is check for vacuum leaks.

What really sucks is that just replaced the oil and filter. I bought a new driver's side motor mount to slap in there too. You can't get to the bolts without taking the filter off. So I had to let brand new oil run out.
