2002 V8 non sport.

Engine light came on the other day, turns out its running lean from what I'm pretty sure is a vacuum leak. P0171 is the only code, running lean on bank 1. Still running pretty smooth, just seems to be a little rough at idle.

Pretty sure I just need to replace the fuel injector line that runs to the idle air control valve as there is a large crack in the line right at the t fitting. (circled in red below)

Found the factory replacement here for $115. http://www.fordpartsgiant.com/parts/ford-hose-asy_xw4z-9e964-aa.html

My question is does anyone know what size lines and fittings you would need to fabricate a custom line on your own?

Seems like you would be able to do it for under $50 if you just bought the lines and fittings and put them together yourself, I just have no clue what sizes would be needed and where to find the proper fittings.

with this car, i wouldnt try to build any kind of homemade line in hopes that it would
work. you'd more than likely spend money on fittings, then spend money on the right
part.

thats just me.

That definitely crossed my mind as well.

Just wondering if anyone knew where the fittings could be had for cheap, finding the lines and a t fitting would be easy enough, just relatively clueless on the fittings for the IAC and down by the fuel rails.

Thanks for the input though all opinions are welcomed.

I'm tempted to go pull it for measurements but I don't want to risk further damage on an already damaged part and put her out of commission until I get a new one in.

Got a new line put in today. Turns out it was just the line running from the T fitting back to the IAC valve.

Must have damaged it when I pulled the valve for cleaning and installed a new gasket.

Just cut the end of so I could use the fitting for the IAC valve, put some gasket maker on there and rammed it into the new hose. The other end wasn't quite as tight a fit on the T fitting so I used gasket maker and lightly clamped it to be safe.
