My Cylinder 4 Coil on Plug is what was causing my car to shudder at 1700 rpm under a light load. Appaently it had been going bad for a while but wasn't bad enough to cause a CEL. The coil finally got so bad it tripped the CEL and I was able to find it. I then switched COP 4 with COP 1 and got a PO301 error. I installed a new COP and car runs and shifts smooth. Now if I can get rid of the ABS, TCS, and Brake warning lights I will be much happier. I swapped out the right front hub and speed sensor. I will do the left front in the next couple of days. This car`is a continuous ed class in auto maintenance.

2. Things come to mind.

First thing is that since one coil has went bad - get ready to replace all of them.

Second thing is that for the wheel speed sensor why not just pay for the dealer to do a scan on the ABS system and get to the exact problem instead of having to swap out parts n' stuff! :D

Good job on finding it though. All FORD missfire counts are sloppy at best. You can pull a spark plug and leave it for a few key starts - than you might get a check-engine code...:)

I swapped out the right front hub because the bearing was bad. Figured while I was doing one I may as well do the left one also. I talked to the local Ford dealer and they wanted $160 to diagnose my car. $80 per system. If the left one doesn't take car of the problem I will take it to Ford. I would really like to know the car is fixed before I sell it.
