2001 ls v8 205k miles, i had 2 leaky fuel injectors and i replaced both they where in cylinder 1 and 4, and i also replaced the IAC with a brand new one, i cleaned the throttle body with the cleaner, i also installed one of these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2000...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories , also replaced both catalytic converters but not the 02 sensors, i replaced all the coils last summer with ebay ones and they also was working fine now, i am getting these errors p0307, p0174, p1506.

This saturday i will try cleaning out the MAF sensor since i should of done it when i installed the intake. is there anything esle that i am missing, can a bad MAF couse all these codes, i dont get any rough idle so i dont think COP7 is bad. any suggestions guys so when saturday comes i can be prepared.

also these are the definitions of the codes that i got.

P0174 System too Lean (Bank 2)
P0307 Cylinder 7 Misfire Detected
P1506 Idle Air Control Over Speed Error

try swapping coils around, like switch coil #7 with coil #5 if miss moves than you coil is bad, just because its new don't make it good. Also the miss causes the lean code cause there is unburnt air going to the exhaust, cylinder #7 is bank 2 coincidence, I think not. I replace aftermarket electronics everyday, I only trust genuine Ford electronics, but even some of them fail prematurely.

In my opinion, it's not that OEM Ford electronics (and parts in general) are always superior to non OEM, but it's the fact that aftermarket quality control is more often than not far inferior to Ford's OEM quality control. With Ford OEM you can pretty much be assured that you are getting a properly fitting, properly working part almost every single time. WIth non oem/aftermarket, I've run into parts that sometimes are dead right out of the box or have died within a month (Advance rebuilt alternator for example), or sometimes fit fine and last for years. (subsequent free replacement Advance rebuilt alternator for example). I've had other aftermarket parts that may have a bolt hole just ever so slightly askew, causing me to have to make some sort of modification somewhere to get things to fit right. THings like that.

So..after 25 years of wrenching on my own cars? I really, really have an appreciation for OEM parts. Not saying I never go aftermarket (I'm running Bosch Platinum plugs and aftermarket rims and Eibach springs right now), just saying I more often go OEM when making repairs.

your right because i also got some aftermarket catalytic converters that was supposed to be bolt on and the passanger side fit perfectly but the driver side the whole was miss aligned and i had to heat up the tube and twist it to align it. WE GET WHAT WE PAID FOR. :)

i did the switch, cleaned out the maff sensor and the IAC valve and now i get codes

P0153 02 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 2 Sensor 1
P0174 System too Lean (Bank 2)
P0307 Cylinder 7 Misfire Detected

i think i may have a bad fuel injector on number 7. any suggestion you guys

Misfire could mean fuel injector, coil, plug. They all work together to make the cylinder fire like it's suppose to. Mess one up and it wont work properly.
