I have been thinking about this project. I like the woodgrain, but the whole image of my LS is more of a sporty look. I just wanted to get some outside opinions on this. It's a project I can do myself, pretty cheap. I can order the exterior color match paint online. If I paint it, should I do the exterior color or some other color....Any ideas will help. I have a silver frost metallic LS with the lighter grey interior....

post some pics of the interior... i think paintin it the exterior would look hott... i remember i guy on here with a red LS painted his wood red, and it looked nice... i been thinkin about changin my parchment leather seats with black ones, how u think that wud look? the black and tan theme could possibly look ok...

Since your car is black you could probably pull it off it would interesting. heres a ghetto way to try it first....put a black sheet on your seat and see how it looks...I said it was ghetto but u will get the idea of the black an tan look.....

haha im trying to color my seats black in Paint rite now hahahaha.... but ya, you should definatly go with the exterior color on your wood if you really want to get rid of the wood... i love the wood IMO

I think Eleanor did this, painted his interior Silver Frost. Came out pretty good looking, a word of advice from everyone who has done this would be to put a few coats of clearcoat on to give it some depth.

I saw that its looks way sick. But IMO i dont know if i would paint the stock ones just yet i would buy a dash kit like the one ken has for sale on his site and paint them just in case you would want to go back to the stock woodgrain and with the dash kit you can paint more things like the control panel on the driver and passenger side doors, shifter pieces and the overhead interior lights with out taking the whole interior apart. thats what i would do. But i think painted interior looks way hot. Definitly do it.

I actually thought of that..buy a kit and paint it but one problem none of the kits come with the door panels....only the switch covers. So that idea is out. I will also clear coat everything. I can't imagine anyone not doing that, unless they were going with the mate look from an old hotrod but that wouldn't look good on the LS.

Bill, thanks for coming through with the link.... I like the panels but I think he went alittle over board with the sunroof panel, shift knob....

ya.. jus do whatever is already wood.. and the door handles..

I just noticed... did he paint the speaker covers too? It kinda looks cool.

Justin has a 2000 LS sport V6 with a manual tranny.

I ordered the paint today and should have it by mid next week. If you are asking the color its a Silver Frost Metallic 00' LS color code TS. If all goes well I will have this project completed buy next weekend.

Automotivetouchup.com

I got some touch up paint from them for a small cratch on my bumper and it worked great they ask for your factory paint code so I trust them. They sell it in 12oz spray cans also so thats what I ordered. Also a couple cans of there clear coat and an adhesion promoter.

This is what my interior looks like in a gold parchment, im happy with it, except the fact I havent figured out what to use to change the wood grain on the steering wheel, im thinking of using a vinyl sticker but havent gotten around to doing it. As for the shifter im getting an aftermarket one. Let me know what you think.

Sounds good man. I really like the duplicolor clear because of the spray nozzle. It's like using a paint gun. Your able to get a mirror finish without color sanding and buffing.

That looks good...I hope mine turns out that well. I am still trying to decide whether to do the stereo, climate contol, center vent or not. I'm gonna paint everything else then see how I like the black and silver then make my decision.

Would someone please paint the black piece behind the door handle too.
Tyler we are on the same page....I am painting that as well I think it stands out too much with the silver paint.

One of the reasons why I didnt paint the inside of the handle is because of the constant use, which will scratch with nails or the paint will probably wear out alot faster. I could be wrong, but im ok with it as it is, as for the climate control I couldnt find a way to take it apart to paint it with out haveing to tape everything up and hopeing I wouldnt mess up, Im simply going to buy a aluminum Dash kit and that should take care of that problem.
